Moto X40 spotted with 125W charger at 3C certification before launch

  • Moto X40 will be launched on December 15th, 2022
  • Before launch, it has been approved by the 3C certification site in China
  • The listing reveals that it may support 125W fast charging

Moto X40 has been certified by the 3C certification platform in China. The device can be seen with its X2301-5 mode number on the certification site. This is not the first time the device has bagged 3C’s approval. In October, the same device appeared in 3C’s database with a 68W charger. Now, it has emerged again with a faster charger.

The probable reason behind it is that the Moto X40 is likely to come in two battery variants with different charging capabilities. As far as other specifications of the X40 is concerned, they have already been revealed through the TENAA certification, which was also spotted in October.

Motorola has already confirmed that the Moto X40 will house a 4,600mAh battery and support 125W fast charging. The newly spotted 3C certification listing reveals that it will be a 125W gallium nitride (GaN) charger with the model number MC-1258.

The TENAA certification of the device suggested that the Moto X40’s other variant may pack a 5,000mAh battery. The 3C listing hints that this model could be accompanied by a 68W charger with the model number MC-688N.

The two battery variants could be called the Moto X40 Pro and Moto X40. It is speculated that the 125W charger variant of the device will be released in the global market, including India, as the Motorola Edge 40 Pro in Q1 2023.
