Moto X40 with IP68 rating, Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 confirmed to launch next month

Moto X40 is confirmed to launch in December. Lenovo Mobile Division’s GM Chen Jin has started teasing the key features of the upcoming offering. The launch date of the smartphone remains under wraps for now. 

The Moto X40 has already been spotted on China’s 3C and TENAA certification websites. The latter reveals key specifications of the device. The X40 is expected to arrive as the successor to the Edge X30 that debuted last year.

Moto X40 to launch next month

The Moto X40 launch poster shared on Weibo reads, “The moto X40 this time supports IP68 waterproofing. We would like to call it the SUV on the mobile phone. December, get ready to go!”  This confirms that the upcoming offering will feature IP68 dust and water-resistant rating. The smartphone will also be powered by a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor. The Moto X40 with the flagship Qualcomm chipset was recently spotted on the AnTuTu benchmark, and in the test, it beat MediaTek’s Dimensity 9200 SoC. 

Motorola is expected to tease other key specifications of the Moto X40 in the coming weeks. As per the TENAA listing, it is expected to come with a 6.67-inch OLED display bearing an FHD+ resolution with curved edges and a 10-bit panel. It is tipped to feature 50MP + 50MP + 12MP triple rear cameras and a 60MP front-facing selfie snapper. The device will pack up to 16GB RAM and 512GB storage. It will reportedly be backed by a 5,000mAh battery unit with 68W charging.
