Motorola has revealed its list of devices that will receive the Android 12 update. While Google Pixel devices have moved on to Android 12 and other manufacturers are preparing for it, Motorola is finally picking up the pace with its next My UX skin. The Lenovo-owned multinational company has shared an in-depth post listing eligible devices for the new OS.

The company will bring improvements to its Android skin, My UX based on Android 12. Motorola fans can expect a cleaner UI, faster loading speeds, better colour contrasts, and many new features. Furthermore, Motorola will opt for a new customisation feature that will allow users to change font style, size, layouts, themes, and pretty much anything to make the Moto experience better.
Motorola Android 12: list of features and customisation
For starters, Motorola’s My UX will adopt Google’s wallpaper theme. It will incorporate Google’s UI-theming, which supports matching colours for icons, widgets, and backgrounds for the smartphone. Users can personise the font size, style, icon shapes, sounds, and more by using the centralised personalisation centre. Secondly, since My UX is based on stock Andriod 12, all the updated smartphones will get the feature to add the Conversational Widgets on the home screen.
The new update will bring forth many recent changes to device privacy on the improvement spectrum. This will be achieved using the all-new Privacy Dashboard feature. Additionally, Motorola devices will display the mic and camera indicators at the top of the screen when used by any app or service. The update is also set to bring optimised gaming that will allow users to play certain video games while being downloaded simultaneously via the Google Play Store.
As for the visuals, Motorola will make some significant improvements with Material You. Though it will be based on the same, My UX will bring some variations to Google’s design system. It will add a colour palette option to the Settings app where users can personalise their home screen, lock screens, and themes using the theme colours. Contrary to Google’s Material You in Pixel 6, My UX will not change the phone’s UI based on the phone wallpaper. It seems like that the next My UX update will be inspired by Andriod 12 instead of being a complete replica of Android 12 for Pixel smartphones.
