Motorola Announces the Motorola Moto Z Play With Snapdragon 625 at $449.99

Motorola has announced yet another version of the flagship device, the Motorola Moto Z. The latest phone is called the Motorola Moto Z Play, as Motorola looks to continue the legacy left behind the Moto X. If you will recall, the Moto X Play was the less powered, but a more robust version of the Moto X Style and that trend has continued as the Moto Z Play, which while identical in looks is slightly a different device when compared the Moto Z or the Moto Z Force, the two Motorola Moto Z phones that have already been announced.

Z Play

The Motorola Moto Z Play comes with a 5.5 inch 1080P Super AMOLED display, with Gorilla Glass 4 protection. This gives the screen a very judicious pixel density of 403PPI. Under that display in the engine room is a Snapdragon 625 chipset which is powered at 2GHz. This is an Octa-Core processor and coupled with 3GB RAM, you would expect a top quality performance in day to day tasks. The Moto Z Play has been announced in a couple of variants, so you have a 32GB internal storage unit or a 64GB version. There are further single and dual SIM variants, though both of them do have a Micro SD card with expansion possible up to 2TB.

The rear camera on the device will be a 16MP sensor with f/2.0 aperture and laser autofocus. The front facing camera for selfies is a 5MP sensor. It has a wide angle lens and a flashlight too so that you can take your selfies even during challenging hours of the day. Just like the other Motorola Moto Z devices, there are three microphones on the Moto Z Play as well as fingerprint scanner on the front. There is also support for Moto Mods, so you have the connecting pins at the back of the device so that you can connect the same to the mods if you purchase them separately. The phone is a big battery smartphone and comes with a 3510 mAh battery with Turbo Charging enabled via a USB Type-C connector. It runs Android Marshmallow out of the box.

The device will go on sale starting September 8th. The Moto Z Play would be launched in Black,Silver, Black Slate, White, Fine Gold and Sugar White colors at a starting price of $449.99.
