The Motorola Edge Series comprising of the Edge and Edge+ premium smartphones have been doing the rounds of the rumour mill for a while now. Just last month, Pricebaba published exclusive renders of the more expensive Edge+, showing off a dramatic curved “waterfall” display and quite possibly the smallest punch-hole cutout on a phone yet. After that, the noted tipster Evan Blass (@evleaks) shared a new set of official-looking renders. More recently, a leak revealed the specifications and live images of the Motorola Edge. Now, Motorola has announced the launch of a new flagship series on April 22nd, where the brand is expected to unveil the Edge smartphones.

Motorola took to Twitter to post a cryptic video from its US-specific Twitter handle. The tweet itself reads, “It’s arriving. Join us for the Motorola Flagship Launch E-vent, April 22nd, 11AM CDT.” The “E” in the text is a pretty strong hint that Motorola is launching the Edge series here. Notably, the new launch will arrive as the brand’s first flagship smartphone since 2018. The tweet is accompanied by a teaser video, which doesn’t reveal much except for our first official look of the dramatic waterfall display that we have seen in the leaks in past.
Motorola Edge and Edge + specifications and features
As for the specs, the Motorola Edge+ is expected to feature a 6.67-inch curved display bearing FHD+ resolution and a 90Hz refresh rate. The smartphone will have a triple camera setup on the back with a 108MP main sensor accompanied by a 16MP ultra-wide-angle lens and an 8MP telephoto shooter. The Edge+ will also be the first smartphone from the brand to support 5G networks.
As for the Motorola Edge, it will feature the Snapdragon 765 chipset that includes the X52 5G modem, backed by 6GB of RAM and 128GB storage. The triple camera module on the back will comprise of a 64-megapixel main lens, with remaining two being the same as the Edge+. Lastly, the smartphone will feature a smaller 4,500mAh battery.
