Motorola Edge+ with Snapdragon 865 SoC and 12GB RAM spotted on Geekbench

Motorola recently announced that it will be introducing its latest smartphones at its upcoming MWC 2020 event in Barcelona on February 23rd. If the rumour mill is to be believed, there will be two new Moto G series handsets called the Moto G8 and Moto G8 Power, and an unnamed stylus-toting Moto smartphone. In addition, the company will also be introducing a new flagship offering at the same event, which is rumoured to arrive as the Motorola Edge+. While the phone maker hasn’t officially confirmed the device, the alleged Motorola Edge+ has surfaced in the database of the benchmarking app Geekbench.

Motorola Edge+ specifications and features

The listing of the purported Motorola Edge+ on Geekbench has revealed a few of its core specifications. The listing suggests that the smartphone will be powered by a powerful processor, which has allowed it to manage a single-core score of 4,106 and a multi-core score of 12,823. In the listing, the motherboard is mentioned “burton”, which is expected to be Qualcomm’s latest flagship processor, the Snapdragon 865. The octa-core chipset has a clock speed of 1.8GHz. The alleged Motorola Edge+ has been benchmarked running the latest version of Android i.e. Android 10.

Motorola Edge+ is said to come powered by the Snapdragon 865 processor and offer 5G connectivity

Recently, the popular gadget tipster Evan Blass aka @evleaks, confirmed the Motorola Edge+ is in the works. Blass suggests that the smartphone will arrive with a hole in the screen to house the selfie camera, but there’s no word where it will be placed on the display. The tipster claims that the device is heading to subscribers of Verizon, but its not clear if the phone will be exclusive to the telecom operator. Unfortunately, there’s no word on the other specifications of the Motorola Edge+ at the moment.

Since the Motorola Edge+ will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 chipset, the phone will be offering support for next-gen 5G networks. We should have more details about the device in the coming weeks, so stay tuned to Pricebaba for regular updates.
