Motorola is reportedly working on a new flagship phone with a “Frontier 22” codename. Earlier this month, the publication TechnikNews had leaked the key specifications of the mysterious smartphone. It revealed that the device will be powered by a new flagship chipset by Qualcomm and it will be equipped with a 200-megapixel camera.
Unfortunately, there is no information on the final marketing name of the device. Since it is a flagship phone, it is likely to debut as an Edge series of smartphones. A new report by Winfuture.de has revealed the design of the mysterious phone. The publication has also shared some more information on the specification of the Frontier 22.
Motorola Frontier 22 design, specifications (rumoured)
The Motorola Frontier 22’s leaked render shows that it will be sporting a curved edge display with a punch-hole design. It features a 6.67-inch POLED FHD+ punch-hole display that offers an FHD+ resolution, a 20:9 aspect ratio, a 144Hz touch sampling rate, DCI-P3 colour gamut, and HDR10+ support. The device is said to be powered by Qualcomm’s upcoming flagship that has an SM8475 part number. It is likely to be an enhanced version of the existing Snapdragon 8 Gen 1.
It is unclear whether it will be introduced with Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 Plus or some other name. The Frontier 22 is expected to arrive in LPDDR5 and UFS 3.1 storage combinations such as 8GB RAM + 128GB storage, 8GB RAM + 256GB storage, and 12GB RAM + 256GB storage. The device will run on Android 12 OS. It is likely to be backed by a 4,500mAh battery that will carry support for 50W wireless charging and 125W wired charging.
The upcoming Motorola flagship will have a 60-megapixel camera for shooting selfies. The rear side of the device will be fitted with a 200-megapixel main camera with OIS support, a 50-megapixel ultrawide lens, and a 12-megapixel telephoto camera. As can be seen in the render, the device features a curved edge rear shell featuring a camera module at the top-left corner and a Motorola batwing logo towards the centre.
The Motorola Frontier 22 will run on Android 12. It will offer connectivity features like dual SIM, 5G, Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.2, NFC, GPS, and a USB Type-C port with DisplayPort 1.4 support. It will be equipped with other features such as an under-display fingerprint scanner, a triple microphone array, and stereo speakers.

The publication has learned through its sources that the Motorola Frontier 22 will debut in July. At present, there is no information on the pricing of the device.

In related news, Motorola’s parent brand Lenovo is working on a Legion branded flagship phone, which is codenamed as Halo. Reputed tipster Evan Blass has leaked the specifications and a render of the smartphone. The leak states that the Lenovo Halo has a 6.67-inch P-OLED FHD+ display that offers a 144Hz refresh rate and 300Hz touch sampling rate, a 16-megapixel front camera, a 50-megapixel + 13-megapixel + 2-megapixel triple camera unit.
The purported Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 Plus chipset is likely to power the Lenovo Halo with a 5,000mAh battery, which will carry support for 68W fast charging. It may ship with 8GB / 12GB / 16GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 128GB / 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage. The leak has no information on the marketing name of the Lenovo Halo.
