Motorola Lists out Phones that will Receive Android 7.0 Nougat

Motorola is well known to provide bone stock Android and good software supports. And now in its latest blog post the company has revealed a list of devices that will get Android Nougat. Google had officially launched the new OS in August and has only made its way to the Nexus lineup of smartphones.

While all smartphone makers are working on the Nougat update for their smartphones, Moto is the first to announce the update for select smartphones. Android Nougat brings a lot of features to the Android OS. The notification panel has been revamped to support quick reply for messages. Features like double-tap to switch apps and the multi-window mode were recently introduced. Nougat also brings other software customizations like improved Doze, this helps to save battery life when the phone is idle.

Currently only the Nexus 6P, Nexus 5X, Nexus 6 and the LG v20 run on Android Nougat. With this announcement, Motorola plans to push the update on the following devices.

Motorola Device list for Android Nougat

Moto G Plus (4th Gen)
Moto G Play (4th Gen)
Moto G (4th Gen)
Moto X Pure Edition (3rd Gen)
Moto X Style
Moto X Play
Moto X Force
Droid Turbo 2
Droid Maxx 2
Moto Z
Moto Z Droid
Moto Z Force Droid

Google Nexus 6

These devices will be updated to Android Nougat but the timeline hasn’t been shared yet. Motorola manages to push updates faster as it offers near stock Android. However, it is surprising that the Motorola Moto E3 Power, Moto G3 and the Moto G Turbo are not included in the list.
