Motorola Moto E6 with 5.5-inch Display and Snapdragon 435 Announced

Motorola has introduced the Moto E6 as its latest entry-level smartphone in the US. Priced at $149 (~Rs 10,335), the Moto E6 comes with a big display, a 13MP camera and a big battery. It has arrived as the successor to the Moto E5 smartphone from last year.

The Moto E6 comes with a 5.5-inch Max Vision IPS LCD display that carries support for HD+ resolution of 720 x 1,440 pixels. It offers an aspect ratio of 18:9. The screen is surrounded by thick bezels. The big bezel below the display carries Motorola branding.

The aging 28nm Snapdragon 435 chipset from 2016 is present under the hood of the Moto E6. The SoC is coupled with 2GB of RAM. The E6 has a native storage of 16GB and it features a microSD card slot for additional storage. The handset comes with a 3,000mAh battery which is significantly smaller than the 4,000mAh battery that came with Moto E5.

The rear shell of the Moto E6 features a 13-megapixel camera with an aperture of f/2.0. It is assisted by PDAF and LED flash. The rear camera is present at the top-left corner of the Moto E6’s rear. The Moto E5 had featured a round-shaped camera module like other Motorola phones. The front of the phone has a selfie camera of 5-megapixels. The Moto E5 had an LED flash for its front-facing camera, and this has been replaced by a screen flash feature on the Moto E6. The front and rear cameras offer features like Spot Color and Portrait Mode.

A stock version of Android 9 Pie comes installed on the device. The other features of the smartphone include dual-SIM support, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS, microUSB 2.0, FM radio and 3.5mm audio jack. The smartphone’s polycarbonate chassis comes with a P2i nano-coating for splash-resistance.

Moto E6 Price and Availability

The Moto E6 is now available for purchase with a $149 (~Rs. 10,335) price tag through Verizon. It can be bought in colours like Starry Black and Navy Blue. The smartphone will be also released in Canada soon.

There is no word on the availability of the Motorola Moto E6 smartphone in India.
