Motorola Moto G4 Play launched in India, Amazon Exclusive

Motorola has finally launched the Moto G4 Play in India. The manufacturer is already selling the Moto G4 and the Moto G4 Plus in India and this is the newest addition to the family. Exclusive to Amazon, the G4 Play is an online only product.


The Moto G4 Play sports a 5-inch display with a resolution of 1280×720 pixels. The screen size is smaller that other phones in the series. The phone comes with a water repellent nano-coating to protect it from water splashes. The Play is powered by a Snapdragon 410 quad-core processor and has 2GB of RAM. The phone runs on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow that is near stock in appearance and functionality.

Moto G4 Play

The camera on the Play is an 8-megapixel sensor at the back with a f/2.2 aperture and a LED flash. On the front, there is a 5-megapixel sensor with the display flash feature. The phone gets 16GB of internal storage that is expandable via a MicroSD card slot. The G4 Play only gets one storage option, unlike the Moto G4 Plus which came in 16GB and 32GB variants.

The G4 Plus is a dual SIM smartphone and has support for 4G and VoLTE. In terms of connectivity, the phone has Bluetooth 4.1, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n. The phone gets a 2800mAh battery which is non-removable and non-user replaceable. Motorola has provided a 10W rapid charger in the box that should get the phone to charge faster. The company claims that the phone can provide 5 hours of battery backup with just 15 mins of charge. Priced at Rs 8,999 the phone is now on sale on Amazon and is available in Black and White color options.
