Lenovo (Motorola) is all set to launch the Moto Z in India on October 4. The Motorola Moto Z was announced back in June during the Lenovo Tech World 2016. The phone went on pre-order in the U.S. last week for $699.99 (Rs.46,700 approximately) and the sale will begin sometime this week.
The Moto Z sports a 5.5-inch AMOLED display with 2560 x 1440 pixels resolution and the pixel density of 535 PPI. The phone is powered by quad-core Snapdragon 820 SoC, Adreno 530 GPU for graphics, and 4GB RAM. The device comes in two variants — 32GB and 64GB internal storage. However, the storage is further expandable via microSD card.
The Dual-SIM phone runs Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow out of the box. In terms of camera offerings, the Moto Z equips a 13-megapixel primary shooter at the back with f/1.8 aperture, dual-tone LED flash, OIS, and laser autofocus. The camera also supports 4K recording at 30 frames per second (FPS). At the front, it has a 5-megapixel selfie camera with f/2.2 aperture and a wide-angle lens.
The Moto Z comes with a fingerprint scanner at the front and packs in a 2600mAh non-removable battery with Turbo charging. As far as the connectivity options are concerned, the Moto Z delivers support for 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi dual-band (2.4GHz + 5GHz), and NFC. The device is compatible with Moto Mods, company’s snap-on accessories which add more functions and looks to the device. The company will also take the wraps off Moto Mods during the Moto Z launch in the country.
The company has been pretty aggressive in expanding its portfolio in India with the latest being the Moto E3 Power which is priced at Rs.7,999. The Moto Z launch event in India will take on the same day as Google event, where the company is expected to launch the whole new lineup of Pixel devices.
