Motorola had announced the Motorola One Action in Europe last week. Now the Lenovo-owned company has brought the device to Indian markets. The One Action is the fourth Android One device in Motorola’s product portfolio. The smartphone comes with a unique action camera lens that lets you shoot landscape videos vertically, just like the GoPro. Let’s take a look at the technical specifications below:
Display & Design:
The Motorola One Action sports a 6.3-inch IPS display bearing FHD+ resolution. It features a tall 21:9 aspect ratio screen for a cinematic viewing experience. The Motorola One Action comes with a punch-hole display that houses the front camera. On the audio front, the smartphone is equipped with Dolby Atmos sound for immersive entertainment. Design-wise, the Motorola One Action flaunts a polycarbonate body with a glossy finish and is IPX2-rated splash resistant. A vertically stacked triple camera setup is located at the top left corner. The device comes with a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner embedded in the Moto logo. The device can be availed in Denim Blue and Pearl White colours.
The triple rear camera module on the Motorola One Action comprises of a 12MP f/1.8 primary sensor, a 16MP f/2.2 ultra-wide Action Camera lens, and a 5MP depth camera. The Action Camera i.e. 16MP lets users shoot a video in landscape mode irrespective of the way the phone is held (vertically). It offers a 117-degree field of view claimed to fit 4x more of the scene in the frame. The camera on the Motorola One Action is equipped with Quad Pixel technology for capturing bright and sharp pictures and videos in low-light conditions. It also comes with enhanced video stabilisation to record smooth videos. The camera software comes with Portrait mode, smart composition, shot optimisation, portrait lighting and Google lens.
Up front, the Motorola One Action is fitted with a 12MP snapper with f/2.0 aperture for clicking selfies. The smartphone is capable of recording videos in 4K at 30fps and in 1080p at 60fps.
Hardware, OS and Battery:
In terms of performance, the Motorola One Action houses an octa-core Samsung Exynos 9609 processor clocked at 2.2GHz. It is coupled with 4GB RAM and a Mali G72 MP3 GPU. The device offers 128GB native storage expandable up to 512GB via a microSD card slot. The Motorola One Action runs Android 9 Pie out of the box. Being an Android One device, it offers a clean and stock UI experience. The smartphone is guaranteed to get three-years of security updates and Android OS updates for the next two years.
The Motorola One Action is backed by a 3,500mAh battery with support for 10W charging. On the connectivity front, the device is equipped with a USB Type-C port, 3.5mm headphone jack, NFC, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and 4G LTE.
Pricing & Availability:
The Motorola One Action has been launched at a price tag of Rs 13,999. The device comes with bundled earphones as well. The smartphone will go on sale from August 30th, 12 noon on Flipkart. Jio users can avail cashback worth Rs 2,200 and 128GB additional 4G data.
At this price tag, the Motorola One Action is the cheapest smartphone to come with a punch-hole design. It will compete against the recently launched Realme 5 Pro, Mi A3, and other devices in the sub-15k price segment.
