The Moto X4 was Motorola’s first Android One smartphone and was launched last year. At IFA 2018, the company has launched two of its latest budget-oriented smartphones under the Android One program. Let’s take a look at the technical specifications & features of the two devices:
Motorola One Power:
Display & Design:
Beginning with the display, the Motorola One Power flaunts a large 6.2-inch IPS LCD display with Full HD+ resolution and a 19:9 aspect ratio. There is a notch on top of the display that houses various sensors and the front camera. Design-wise, the phone sports a metal and glass back which feels premium. The fingerprint sensor is embedded with Motorola’s brand logo.
Hardware & Camera:
Under the hood, the Motorola One Power is equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 chipset paired with an Adreno 509 graphics processor onboard. It comes in two RAM & storage variants – 3GB+32GB and 4GB+64GB. Both the variants support a microSD card slot for additional storage expansion.
As for the optics, the Motorola One Power features a dual rear camera setup comprising of a 16MP primary and 5MP secondary sensor. An 8MP shooter is fitted on the front for clicking selfies. Motorola has added Google Lens integration in its camera UI.
Battery & OS:
The Motorola One Power packs a massive 5000 mAh battery unit which can be topped off using Motorola’s Turbo charger supplied in the box. Out of the box, the device runs on the latest Android 8.1 Oreo OS. Since this is a Android One device, users can expect guaranteed and timely OS updates.
The Motorola One is the less powerful variant of the One Power. The device comes with a slightly smaller 5.9-inch HD+ display. It is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 626 processor paired with 4GB RAM. The handset offers 64GB onboard storage and is expandable via a microSD card. On the imaging front, the Motorola One has a dual vertical camera module with 13MP+2MP sensors. You get an 8MP snapper on the front for clicking selfies. The Motorola One packs a 3000 mAh battery with TurboPower fast charging. The device also features a P2i water-repellent nano coating. The Motorola One runs Android 8.1 Oreo and offers a stock UI experience since it is an Android One phone.
Pricing & Availability:
The Motorola One bears a price tag of EU 299 and will be made available in Europe, Latin America, & Asia Pacific starting next month. The Motorola One Power is slated to release in India in October. While the pricing of the same isn’t revealed yet, but we expect it to be launched around Rs 15,000. Based on the specifications, the phone will take on the likes of Nokia 6.1 Plus & Xiaomi Mi A2.
