Motorola One Vision Android One Smartphone Receives Wi-Fi Certification, Launch Nearing?

A report published by XDA-developers yesterday shed light on some of the key specifications of Motorola’s upcoming One Vision Android One smartphone. While the report did not mention any specific launch timeframe, it appears the smartphone’s official launch may be nearing. The Wi-Fi Alliance has certified the XT1970-1, XT1970-2, and XT1970-3 variants of the upcoming smartphone.

Motorola One Vision May Arrive Sooner Than Expected

The Motorola One Vision Wi-Fi certification confirms the smartphone will have support for Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac dual-band. In terms of software, the certification tells us the Motorola One Vision will be launched with the Android 9.0 Pie OS out of the box. Since it will be an Android One smartphone, we expect it to receive an update to Android Q before most of its rivals. In addition to Android Q, owners of the smartphone will be able to look forward to receiving the Android R update as well.

Motorola One Vision Wi-Fi Certification

According to the recent report, Motorola One Vision will have a punch-hole display with Full HD+ resolution. It will be powered by Samsung’s 10nm Exynos 9610, the same chipset that powers the mid-range Galaxy A50. At the rear, it will have a dual-camera setup with a 48MP primary sensor. By default, however, the camera will only take 12MP resolution photos. In terms of battery life, the Motorola One Vision is expected to less impressive than last year’s Motorola One Power. It will reportedly pack a 3500mAh capacity battery, which is larger than the battery inside the Motorola One but smaller than the Motorola One Power’s 5000mAh cell.

Since the Wi-Fi Alliance has now certified the Motorola One Vision, we will likely not have to wait very long for the smartphone to go official. Before that, however, it will have to receive a few more mandatory certifications from regulatory authorities around the world. The smartphone is rumored to launch as the Moto P40 in China.
