- Motorola Razr 3 is in the works
- Unlike its predecessors, the Razr 3 may debut as a flagship device
- It may feature a 120Hz display and Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chip
Motorola Razr 3’s launch could be a couple of months away. Last month, Lenovo China’s General Manager for mobile division Chen Jin had shared a teaser image of the upcoming Razr 3 and claimed that it will be equipped with “more advanced chip computing power” and a better design.
Back in 2019, Motorola announced the Motorola Razr flip phone with a foldable display and Snapdragon 710. It was followed up with the release of the Snapdragon 765G powered Razr 5G in 2020. While the predecessor models were driven by the Snapdragon 7-series chip, fresh leaks claim that the upcoming Razr 3 will be equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1.
Motorola Razr 3 specifications (rumoured)
Publications XDA Developers and Technik News have shared a lot of information on the specs of the Motorola Razr 3. The predecessor Razr models featured a notched display, but the forthcoming Razr 3 is likely to arrive with a foldable screen that offers a Full HD+ resolution, a 20:9 aspect ratio and a punch-hole cutout. It is unclear whether the device will feature an AMOLED screen. A secondary display will also be available on the device, but there is no information on its size and resolution yet.
Moving to the cameras, the Motorola Razr 3 will be fitted with a 32-megapixel OmniVision selfie camera. Its rear camera setup will include a 50-megapixel OmniVision OV50A primary camera, which will be coupled with a 13-megapixel ultrawide snapper that can double as a macro snapper. The Razr 3 is expected to carry support for 120fps 1080p slow-motion video shooting and 60fps UHD video recording. The device will be running on the latest Android 12 OS.
One of the major highlights of the Razr 3 will be the inclusion of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chip. The device is likely to arrive in RAM options like 6GB, 8GB, and 12GB. For storage, it may offer options like 128GB, 256GB, and 512GB. It may house a 2,800mAh battery and carry support for NFC and ultra-wideband (UWB). The new leaks have no information on the pricing of the Razr 3.
Motorola Razr 3 launch timeframe (rumoured)
The Razr 3 is now expected to make its debut in June this year. However, there is a possibility that its arrival may get delayed due to ongoing issues like the global chip shortage and COVID-19 pandemic. To recollect, the original Razr was unveiled in November 2019, and its 5G variant was made available in September 2020. It is likely the device may launch first in China before arriving in other markets.
