On: October 1, 2020

In September, Motorola took the covers off the Motorola Razr 5G clamshell phone. Apart from sporting a foldable screen, the handset arrived with a couple of noticeable improvements like 5G support and a better chipset. Soon after its launch, the Razr 5G was available for registrations through the Motorola India website. Today, the Lenovo-owned company officially confirmed that it will be debuting in India at 12pm on October 5th.

The official tweet released by the company reveals that the Motorola Razr 5G has a 2.7-inch Quick View display, a 6.2-inch OLED foldable screen, and an ultra-sleek zero-gap hinge design. The flip phone will be available for purchase through Flipkart.  The Razr 5G replaces the Motorola Razr that went official in November 2019.

Motorola Razr 5G specifications and features

The Motorola Razr 5G has a 6.2-inch P-OLED display with 876 x 2142 pixels resolution and a 21:9 aspect ratio. The 2.7-inch Quick View display delivers 800 x 600 pixels resolution. The phone runs Android 10 out of the box.

The Snapdragon 765G powers the Razr 5G with 8GB of LPPDR4x RAM and 256GB of UFS 2.1 storage. The device is equipped with a 2,800mAh battery that supports 15W charging.

The Razr 5G has a 20-megapixel selfie camera and 48-megapixel main camera with f/1.7 aperture and OIS. Other features include nano-SIM, e-SIM, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 5.1, NGC, GPS, USB Type-C, and a rear-facing fingerprint reader. It lacks support for a 3.5mm audio jack and a microSD slot.

Motorola Razr 5G pricing and availability

In the US, the Motorola Razr 5G is priced at $1,399 (~Rs 102,300) and it is available in colour options such as Polished Graphite, Liquid Mercury, and Blush Gold. At present, there is no word on the pricing and color variants for the Indian market. The Motorola Razr arrived in India with a pricing of Rs 1,24,999. Hence, it is likely that the Razr 5G will carry a hefty price tag. Ahead of the Razr 5G, Motorola has slashed the price of last year’s model by Rs 30,000.
