Motorola Razr 5G with Snapdragon 765G, 48MP primary camera launched: price, specifications

The Motorola Razr 5G has gone official as the 5G-enabled version of the Motorola Razr flip phone that debuted last November. One of the major gripes with last year’s model was that it featured an outdated chipset. The Razr 5G not only comes with a new design, but also sports better specifications.

The Motorola Razr 5G comes with upgraded cameras, a larger outer display and a bigger battery. The device now comes in three colour options. The Lenovo-owned company is yet to confirm the availability of the Razr 5G in India. Considering that its predecessor was made available in the country, the Razr 5G could also make its way here in the future.

The Motorola Razr 5G features a 6.2-inch P-OLED display that produces 876 x 2,142 pixels resolution, 373ppi pixel density and a 21:9 aspect ratio. On the outside, there is an OLED display measuring 2.7 inches. It produces 800 x 600 pixels resolution and a 370ppi pixel density.

Compared to its predecessor model, the outer screen of the Motorola Razr 5G supports more apps such as camera, messages, calculator, YouTube, Google Home, Google News, and Google Keep. Users can also select other apps for the second screen, which now supports gesture-based navigation. The Razr 5G comes runs Android 10 out of the box.

The Motorola Razr 5G retains the wide notch on the display that houses a 20-megapixel selfie camera with f/2.2 aperture. On the rear panel is a 48-megapixel main camera with f/1.7 aperture, laser autofocus, OIS and an LED flash.

The Snapdragon 765G that powers many of the recently released 5G mid-range phones is the driving force of the Razr 5G. The device ships with 8GB of LPDDR4x RAM and 256GB of UFS 2.1 storage. There is no support for external storage on the Razr 5G.

Another improvement on the Motorola Razr 5G is the inclusion of a larger 2,800mAh battery. It continues to support 15W charging, however. As far as connectivity is concerned, the Razr 5G comes with features like a single nano-SIM slot, e-SIM support, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 5.1, NFC, GPS, and USB Type-C. It lacks a 3.5mm headphone jack. A fingerprint sensor embedded Motorola batwing logo can be found on the back panel.

The Motorola Razr 5G is priced at $1,399 (~Rs 102,690) in the U.S. and it comes in Polished Graphite, Liquid Mercury and Blush Gold colours. The device will be also released in China and select European markets by fall.
