Back in November last year, Motorola had introduced its foldable smartphone called Motorola razr (unboxing). However, the device only went on sale by the end of January in the US market. The Lenovo-owned brand has been teasing the launch of Motorola razr in India on its Twitter handle. Now, Motorola has started sending out launch invites for the foldable smartphone that will take place on March 16th in the country. The Motorola razr will arrive with the same specifications as its global variant. It flaunts the iconic Motorola razr’s design language with a modern twist.
The Motorola razr carries a price tag of $1,500 (~Rs 1,08,300) in the US. It is expected to arrive with at a similar price point in India. The foldable smartphone will compete against the recently launched Galaxy Z Flip that retails at Rs 1,09,900 in the country.
Motorola razr specifications and features
The Motorola razr sports a 6.2-inch vertically folding OLED screen and a 2.7-inch secondary display on the outside that shows notifications, date, time and more. There is a notch on the top and a thick chin at the bottom of the display that houses a home button. It also doubles up as a fingerprint scanner. The Motorola razr has a single 16MP camera with f/1.8 aperture on its outer shell along with a dual-LED flash. It offers Night Vision mode, Dual Pixel tech, EIS and laser autofocus. There is a 5MP selfie sensor fitted inside the notch above the main screen.
Under the hood, the Motorola razr is powered by a Snapdragon 710 chipset paired with 6GB RAM and 128GB internal storage. The device is backed by a 2,510mAh battery with 15W TurboPower fast charging support. It runs Android 9 Pie out of the box. Connectivity options on the foldable smartphone include 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, USB-C port, NFC and GPS.
