Motorola’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 flagship India launch tipped for Q1 2022

Motorola’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 flagship phone may launch in India in the next few months. According to 91mobiles, it has learned through industry sources that Motorola will be launching two smartphones in Q1 2022. The first one could be a flagship phone powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1, while the second device could be a G-series smartphone. The monikers of both phones are under the wraps.

Last month, Motorola announced the Moto G200, Moto G71, Moto G51, Moto G41, and Moto G31 smartphones in Europe. The company has recently launched the G31 in India and is scheduled to launch the G51 on December 10th in the country. Hence, there is a possibility that the non-flagship Motorola phone that is speculated to launch in Q1 2022 could be Moto G200, G71, or G41.

Motorola is scheduled to launch the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 powered Moto Edge X30 on December 9th in China. This phone is expected to release in Europe with the Motorola Edge 30 Ultra moniker. Probably, the Edge 30 Ultra could be heading to the Indian markets in Q1 2022.

When Motorola confirmed the availability of the new G-series phones last month, it revealed that the G71 will be launching in India. Hence it appears that the G-series phone that is rumoured to launch in Q1 2022 could be the G71. While there is no confirmation on whether the company has any plans to release the G41 in India, a recent report claimed that the G200 may debut in the country

Motorola Edge 30 Ultra specifications (rumoured)

The Edge 30 Ultra will feature a 6.67-inch OLED display with a punch-hole design. It offers a Full HD+ resolution, a 144Hz refresh rate, and an in-screen fingerprint scanner.  It has a front-facing camera of 60-megapixel, and its rear shell has a 50-megapixel main camera, a 50-megapixel ultrawide lens, and a 2-megapixel depth camera.

The Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 powered phone will come with 8GB / 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM. It is likely to arrive in 128GB / 256GB UFS 3.1 storage options. It may house a 5,000mAh battery that carries support for 68W fast charging. It will come preinstalled with Android 12.
