Chinese smartphone Huawei has finally unveiled its latest smartwatch Huawei Watch 2 running the all new Android Wear 2.0, the dedicated operating system for smartwatches. In addition to the smartwatch, the company has also announced two new smartphones – Huawei P10 and Huawei P10 Plus.
Huawei Watch is the second smartwatch to launch with Google’s Android Wear 2.0 operating system after LG smartwatches which were also launched recently. Apart from the dedicated operating system, the Huawei Watch also gets the Snapdragon 2100 chipset uniquely designed for 4G wearables. The watch also features LTE and NFC for Android Pay.
Talking about design and looks, the Huawei Watch 2 gets a classy sportier look and comes with multiple strap options. Similar to its predecessor, it also sports a circular 1.2-inch display surrounded by etched ceramic bezels adding a premium feel to the device. The watch also gets resistance against moisture and dust with the IP68 rating. It houses all the standard fitness features for monitoring activities like running, cycling or working out on the treadmill.
The Huawei Watch 2 also gets heart monitor and packs in a 420mAh battery. The company claims the device to last 25 days with ‘Watch mode” and with heavy usage mode it can last up to 2 days. It comes in four different colors – grey, yellow, black and bright orange. It is currently priced at EUR 329 (approx Rs 23,000) and is likely to appear in the market soon.
