If you’re looking to buy an iPhone 7, this is the best time to go for it. You can either buy it from an online retailer, nearest Apple store or even at offline retail chains like Reliance Digital and Croma. All the online stores such as Flipkart, Amazon, Snapdeal, Tata CliQ are already providing cashback and different offers on the iPhone 7.
But apart from them, Airtel and Reliance Jio have also announced their offers for the new iPhones in India which are worth looking at. So here’s all you need to know about these offers from the following network operators.
Reliance Jio is offering free voice calls, 20GB of data per month and unlimited SMS for one year, worth Rs 18,000 to all new iPhone users on its network. You could get an iPhone with Reliance Jio network from any nearest Reliance Digital store or Apple reseller. On getting the connection with Reliance Jio, you’ll also get the “Welcome Offer” with free unlimited data and voice calling till December 31st.
Starting from January 1st, the iPhone users will get Jio’s Rs 1,499 monthly plan completely free for one year. This plan includes unlimited local and STD voice calling with national roaming, 4G data of up to 20 GB, unlimited 4G data at night, 40GB of WiFi data, unlimited SMS and unlimited Jio Apps subscription.
This offer is not just restricted on iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus but it also available for iPhone 6, 6 Plus, 6S Plus, and iPhone SE. Also, this Jio offer for iPhone buyers is currently available in Mumbai, Delhi/NCR, Ahmedabad and Bengaluru only. So iPhone 7 enthusiasts from other cities might have to wait for a little longer to get the Jio offers on iPhone.
The Reliance Jio – Bharti Airtel rivalry is touching the new skies here. After Reliance Jio announced its bundled offers with new iPhones, Airtel has also announced its unique offer by letting users buy an iPhone 7 for Rs 19,900 as down payment.
Airtel has come up with this offer of letting you buy an iPhone 7 for Rs 19,900 as down payment and the rest can be paid in year long installments. Of course, this offer comes with its terms and conditions. So, let’s have a look at these terms and conditions and find out if it is worth your money or not?
With this ‘iPhone for Life’ plan, Airtel is providing 5GB of 4G data and free unlimited voice calling for Rs 2,000 per month. You can go as high as Rs 3,000 per month for 15GB of 4G data. During this period the user cannot terminate the mobile services, port out of Airtel network, transfer ownership of neither the plan nor the iPhone to someone else and once this 12-month plan is over, the user is expected to either return the iPhone back to Airtel or purchase it for an additional balloon payment.
In the table above, you can see the balloon payment options bundled along with the monthly plan options and model. So, this offer isn’t value for money if your monthly bill doesn’t add up to two thousand rupees. Consider this scenario, if you buy an iPhone 7 32GB with Rs 1999 monthly plan and you want to keep the device at the end of the year, you’ll find yourself down by Rs 68,000. So, you’ll end up paying Rs 8,000 more than the billing price just for getting 5GB 4G data per month.
I would definitely recommend the Reliance Jio offer over than Airtel one. Of course, one has to keep in mind that iPhone is a single SIM device and voice calling is still not feasible on Jio network . But, the Jio SIM which you get along with iPhone is not locked with the iPhone, that means you could put the Jio SIM in any other device and enjoy the services for one year.
