Netflix just released the most anticipated feature that has been lingering around since the E3 gaming conference back in 2019. Netflix Games will be the next big update for Netflix users. Along with streaming TV shows and movies on the Netflix mobile app, Netflix users will be able to play video games at no extra cost and without any ad interruptions.

Netflix’s new gaming feature is currently available for Android smartphones and tablets, and will roll out to iOS devices soon. The streaming giant has added five games to its app, which include Stranger Things: 1984, Stranger Things 3: The Game, Shooting Hoops, Card Blast and Teeter Up. If you’ve received the new games feature on your Netflix app, here’s how to play.
How to play Netflix Games
To access the new gaming titles on the Netflix mobile app, users will need to update their app to the latest version. Follow the instructions below:
- Tap on the new “Games” tab section in the Netflix app
- Select your preferred gaming title
- You will be redirected to your phone’s respective app store to download and install the game
- Play the game through the Netflix app
Once the game has been downloaded, you can play it directly inside the Netflix app. Do note that users will need an active Netflix subscription to play the games.
Netflix games rolls out to Android devices
Netflix Games can be best described as an extended feature for the Netflix mobile app. On Android phones, users will see a dedicated games row or games tab, while on Android tablets, users will either see a games row or select games from the categories drop down menu to download and play. Going forward, Netflix will add more games across genres and for different levels of players, from beginner to advanced. While some games will require an internet connection, others can be played offline.
Netflix also adds that the games will be available in various different languages supported by the Netflix app. In addition, all profiles on a single Netflix account will be able to play the games. However, in the interest of child safety, the games will not be available on Kids’ profiles.
