Migration is the ideal holiday movie for families, coming from the same studio that made Despicable Me, The Grinch, and Super Mario Bros: The Movie. Migration chronicles the journey of a duck family—paternal, maternal, and juvenile—as they set off on the Great Migration. This journey may be their most memorable vacation and adventure yet.

As of December 25, 2023, the film has earned $17.5 million in the United States and Canada and an additional $22 million in other territories. It brings its total worldwide earnings to $39.5 million. In the United States and Canada, Migration was released alongside Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom, Anyone but You, and The Iron Claw. It earned $5.8 million on its opening day, including $1.5 million from Thursday night previews. The movie debuted with a total of $12.5 million, securing a third-place position at the box office. Although having a plot that doesn’t exactly stand out, Migration soars thanks to its breathtaking animation and the engaging performances of its excellent voice cast. Despite the predictable premise, the sense of burlesque/ parody in Migration is praiseworthy.

Wonka is a captivating story that delves into the life of Willy Wonka. The film takes viewers on a journey, revealing the extraordinary transformation of Willy Wonka from a brilliant inventor and magician to the cherished chocolate maker everyone adores. Featuring Willy Wonka’s early days as a chocolatier, it relates the character’s origin tale from Roald Dahl’s 1964 novel Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. After Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory, this is the third film adapted from a book by Dahl. The musical numbers and Oompa Loompa designs are carried over from the 1971 version, but the styling and world-building suggest a different reality. Timothée Chalamet plays the lead role.

The film garnered positive reviews from critics and received multiple award nominations, including a Golden Globe nomination for Best Actor – Motion Picture Musical or Comedy for Timothée Chalamet.

Wish is a Walt Disney Animation Studios-produced and Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures-distributed animated musical fantasy film. The story focuses on Asha, a 17-year-old girl who makes a desperate plea to the stars after sensing a doom in the Kingdom of Rosas that no one else does. The film was supposed to be a little bit of everything—a celebration of the present, a nod to the past, and a little push toward the future—as Disney celebrates its centennial. However, the movie has not left a distinct mark. While the film’s affectionate nods to the studio’s past hit a chord with some viewers, it fails to capture the enchantment of good storytelling, no matter how stunning the animation. So far, the film has earned $48.9 million at the box office against an approximate budget of $175–200 million. If you are bored and want to go out with your children, Wish is a film you should consider watching.
