OnePlus is set to launch two smart televisions in India on July 2nd. Last week, the brand confirmed that the TVs will carry a sub-Rs 20K starting price tag. Among the two upcoming TVs, one will be aimed at mid-segment and the other at the entry-level segment. OnePlus hasn’t revealed the name of its new TV series yet.
Now on the brand’s official forum, CEO Pete Lau has teased the display features of the upcoming TVs. He revealed that the TVs will have a DCI-P3 93 percent colour gamut. The upcoming models are also confirmed to sport the company’s ‘Cinematic Display’.

The upcoming OnePlus TVs will feature a DCI-P3 93 percent colour gamut suggesting that they will offer vivid display and high colour accuracy. However this is usually found in premium TVs, so it remains to be seen which model comes with this feature. Lau also revealed that the mid-range model will be equipped with the company’s Gamma Engine to enhance the picture quality. It includes a range of processing enhancements including super-resolution, dynamic resolution, MEMC, colour space mapping and noise reduction. Gamma Engine will help deliver sharper, cleaner and fluid videos. OnePlus says that it has worked with Dolby Labs so the upcoming TVs will come with Dolby Vision certification.
Right now, this is everything we know about the upcoming affordable OnePlus TVs. We expect the brand to reveal more features leading up to the launch event. As per past reports, a 32-inch and 43-inch model of OnePlus TV were reportedly spotted on the Bluetooth SIG website. OnePlus will compete against the likes of Xiaomi, Realme, Nokia and Motorola televisions in the Indian market by launching affordable TVs.
