New OnePlus TV to be priced below Rs 20,000 in India

In a tweet, OnePlus has confirmed that the new OnePlus TV series will be priced starting at “Rs 1X,999”, which confirms a sub-Rs 20,000 starting price. A previous report had claimed that the company will launch one budget and one mid-range TV, with the former retailing for around Rs 15,000.

By launching affordable televisions, OnePlus aims to compete against the likes of Xiaomi’s Mi TVs and the Realme TV in the Indian market. It’s likely that the brand’s upcoming televisions will retain some of the features from its premium Q1-series offerings. We expect OnePlus to reveal more details leading up to the launch event on July 2nd.

OnePlus TV Q1 and Q1 Pro specifications and features

Both the OnePlus Q1 and Q1 Pro TV come with the same specifications and design, except in the audio department. The televisions offer a 55-inch QLED display with high dynamic contrast ratio, Dolby Vision and high NTSC colour gamut. The TVs feature a premium design with thin bezels and a carbon-fibre back panel. The standard Q1 is equipped with four speakers, while the Pro model packs eight speakers with a sliding soundbar integrated into the chassis.

The OnePlus Q1 and Q1 Pro run the Android 9-based Android TV OS. The TVs come with Google Assistant, Chromecast, Play Store and YouTube, along with OTT platforms like Netflix, Prime Video and more.
