The week, extending from the last day of October to the first few days of November, i.e., from October 31 to November 6, 2022, is packed with exciting films and web series that several fans worldwide have been waiting for. Two much-awaited blockbuster films will have their digital premiere this week. Fans can watch Brahmastra and Ponniyin Selvan (PS-1) on Disney+ Hotstar and Amazon Prime Video, respectively.

For the first time in Tamil cinema, ace actor Parthiban and Academy-award-winning music director AR Rahman will be seen together in Iravin Nizhal. The story of the film revolves around Nandu, who understands that he is going to be arrested and hence he runs away with a gun targeting to meet the fake Godman, Paramaanandha. Paramaanandha is believed to be the reason behind this arrest and situation. However, as he reached the ashram, a series of thoughts from the past haunt him and take him back to a life which was filled with sins, darkness and more. What follows are events which showcase what his past was about, the challenges he faced and more. Iravin Nizhal is one of the most anticipated projects of Parthiban, who has acted, written, co-produced and directed the film. Critics and audience gave the film a positive response during the theatrical release.

Kotthu | Amazon Prime Video and Simply South
Malayalam film Kotthu boasts of an eminent cast but it received a negative response from the audience during its theatrical release. Directed by Sibi Malayil, the film revolves around Kerala’s political scenario which includes bloodshed, status differences and more. Makers reveal that the story of Kotthu has been inspired by many real-life incidents and also sheds light on the challenges faced by political party workers in their careers thereby emphasising the rebellious nature of the parties. The film also marks Sibi Malayil’s comeback in Malayalam cinema after a long break of seven years.

Steven Moffat’s upcoming drama-thriller TV show, Inside Man, originally aired on the BBC network and received a mixed response. Fans can now watch Inside man on Netflix, and the four-episode show revolves around the lives of a prisoner and a woman who cross paths in the most unexpected way. While the man is serving death row in America, the woman gets trapped in a cellar.

Young Royals S2 | Netflix
The popular Swedish teen drama TV series, Young Royal, received much appreciation from the audience for the first season, so much so that the makers and OTT giant, Netflix, renewed the show for the second season. The show revolves around the fictional Prince Wilhelm of Sweden and the blossoming love story with his student, Simon Eriksson. However, not everything is as sweet as it seems, and what follows are events packed with a drama set in the fictional elite boarding school Hillerska. The first season saw six episodes and premiered on Netflix in July 2021. An official announcement regarding the new season was made in September 2021.

The Ghost | Netflix
Telugu language action thriller film, Ghost, revolves around the life of an Interpol field agent, Vikram, who is suffering from anger management issues. Often, he is taken back to the dark moments when his mother was killed, and this keeps him mentally troubled. On an unfortunate mission, he attempts to save a business mogul’s son and the boy gets killed as collateral damage which develops a guilt complex leading to rage. This affects his life so much that he breaks up with his love, Priya. A few years later, he receives an unexpected call from Interpol. What follows takes the audience through moments where Vikram remerges to save his family. The Ghost received a mediocre response from its theatrical release in October 2022 where the performances and action sequences were appreciated, however, the direction and plot received criticism. Fans can watch The Ghost in Tamil and Telugu.

Manifest S4 | Netflix
Presented as a supernatural drama TV series, Manifest, first aired on America’s NBC network on September 2018, and was renewed for three more seasons owing to its popularity. It was then added on Netflix, cancelled later and renewed for the fourth season of twenty episodes. The show revolves around the passengers of Montego Air Flight 828, from Jamaica to New York City, which faces severe turbulence, goes missing and returns after five and a half years. Passengers who were presumed dead now rejoin society only to now realise that their own people are not the same as they were. However, their lives are different too, as they experience guiding voices and visions showing futuristic events.

The second season of the popular Telugu-language celebrity chat show, Unstoppable with NBK, began streaming on Aha Video from October 14, 2022. and the first guests of the show were Chandrababu Naidu and Nara Lokesh. The show which was announced in a grand manner, on Dusshera, October 5, 2022, also saw Vishwak Sen and Siddhu Jonnalagadda as guests in the second episode. The third episode of the show has already created excitement as the beloved NBK will be chatting with two superstars of today’s time, Adivi Sesh and Sharwanand. The story of PS-1 revolves around the early life of Chola prince Arulmozhi Varman, popularly known as Kind Rajaraja I, for his rule in 947–1014. Chola dynasty, in the 10th dynasty, ruled in South India under the reign of Emperor Sundara Chozhar. His sons, Aditha Karikalan and Arulmozhi Varman have planned the conquests of Kanchi and Lanka to become a part of their empire, however, a brewing conspiracy makes its way and bothers Aditha Karikalan. He sends his friend Vallavaraiyan Vandiyadevan, the prince of the Vaanar Clan, to investigate, who upon reaching the fortress of Kadamboor, gets to know about the plan made by Chola treasurer and minister of finance, which would stop Aditha Karikalan from ascending the throne. What happens post is a series of events which lead to turmoil and dealing with the plot for the one to take the throne.

The upcoming Hindi-romcom-drama film, Tadka, on Zee5, stars a number of popular actors from Bollywood. Directed by actor Prakash Raj, Tadka is a remake of a Malayalam film, Salt N’Pepper, the story of which revolves around two couples. Tadka is set against the backdrop of Goa. The filming for Tadka began in May 2016, however, the release was delayed for many years, due to undisclosed reasons. Makers of the original film also revealed that food plays a significant aspect in the story, and the representation was appreciated by the viewers. The music of the film has been given by Maestro Ilaiyaraaja, Ankit Tiwari and Anup Rubens; and the lyrics are penned by Kumaar and Amitabh Bhattacharya.
