This week, i.e., from September 12 to September 18, 2022, entertainment fans across India will be able to watch several new seasons of the popular show. OTT platforms will also be offering reboots and adaptations of popular older shows and films which have made a mark in the past. Though the number of releases is fewer this week, fans are in for a treat with content featuring popular names and releases which have created buzz right from the trailer release.

Meanwhile, regional releases like Rama Rao on Duty, Timepass 3 and Kerosene will get the OTT release after tasting success in theatres. The name Heartbreak High rings a bell for the 90s film and TV buffs, especially those who have enjoyed the 1994 series on Network Ten. The upcoming series on Netflix, with the same name, is the reboot of the original show which releases almost two decades back, and the new show is an Australian drama TV series created and written by Hannah Carroll Chapman, Ben Gannon and Michael Jenkins.

Starring popular names like Gulshan Devaiah, Gauahar Khan, Pawan Malhotra and others, Shiksha Mandal, is a crime thriller revolving around the education system of India. As per reports, the story of the show is inspired by true events which talk about one of the biggest medical entrance exam scams in the country.
Education mafias have taken over the business and will go to any lengths to lure the students into their plans. The story hits the high when a coaching teacher, Aditya’s sister gets trapped and now he and his daring police officer have to take down the mafia, fight the danger and unravel the education scam.

Rama Rao on Duty | SonyLIV | September 15
Produced by SLV Cinemas and RT Team Works, Ramarao on Duty starring superstar Ravi Teja in the titular role is a Telugu-language mystery action film written and directed by Sarath Mandava.
The story of Rama Rao on Duty is set In 1995, when a deputy collector turned M.R.O, B. Rama Rao, is posted to Chittoor. Right after the posting, he learns about the several unsolved murder cases in the area and plans to crack them. He is helped by his girlfriend Maalini and the local police. The investigation also leads to several other matters, one of which is the illegal red sandalwood smuggling racket. This forms the plot where the racket is linked to the murders which Rama Rao now wants to crack with evidence thereby solving the case.
Besides Ravi Teja, the film also stars Divyansha Kaushik, Rajisha Vijayan, and Venu Thottempudi. Ramarao on Duty was released in theatres on July 29, 2022, however, it did not receive positive reviews from the critics.

The trailer of the upcoming Disney+ Hotstar show, Dahan: Raakan ka Rahasya, has already created a buzz among the entertainment buffs. The Hotstar original starring popular names like Tisca Chopra, Saurabh Shukla, Rajesh Tailang, Ankur Nayyar, and Mukesh Tiwari is produced by Banijay Asia and directed by Vikrant Pawar.
The story of Dahan: Raakan ka Rahasya, Written by Nisarg Mehta, Shiva Bajpai, Nikhil Nair, is nine-episode series, set in Shilaspura, a small town which was cursed centuries ago by a preacher. Locals believe that his spirit is still trapped in a mound and could destroy if disturbed.
IAS officer (Tisca Chopra) finds out about the presence of the rare minerals in the town and plans to dig it despite resistance from the residents. However, the project leads to several incidents of bloodied nature.

College Romance S3 | SonyLIV | September 16
After the success of College Romance Season 1 and Season 2, the makers of the show, TVF, have planned to release College Romance Season 3. Starring Apoorva Arora, Gagan Arora, Jahnvi Ravat, Manjot Singh, Keshav Sadhna, Nupur Nagpal, Shreya Mehta, and Eklavey Kashyap; the five-episode show will primarily stream in Hindi, but its also dubbed in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, Marathi, and Bengali.
Directed by Parijat Joshi, College Romance Season 3 will focus on Naira and Bagga’s relationship which is not as stable as wished due to the long distance. Chances brew where Bagga might cheat on Naira and time will test their bond. Meanwhile, Trippy returns and Karan informs Naira about the same asking her not to talk to him. This season will also see many new relationship blossoming in the college leading to twists and turns in the loved drama.

In August 2022, Netflix released its new slate of films and shows for the Indian audience and one among the much-awaited releases was Diljit Dosanjh starrer film, Jogi.
Set in 1980s India, Jogi is a story about three friends from different faiths who unite to solve a dangerous yet noble effort of saving hundreds of people from their town. Based on the 1984 anti-Sikh riots, Jogi is a film close to Diljit’s heart and the actor, during the recent interviews, has mentioned growing up hearing the experiences and stories about the same.
Besides Diljit, renowned actors like Kumud Mishra, Hiten Tejwani, Paresh and Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub are also a part of the Netflix film Jogi. The film is directed by Ali Abbas Zafar and Amyra Dastur plays the lead alongside Diljit

The third instalment of the Marathi film, Timepass 3 is a romantic comedy starring Prathamesh Parab, Hruta Durgule and Bhalchandra Kadam in pivotal roles. The film is directed by Ravi Jadhav and produced by Meghana Jadhav, the story of which revolves around Dagdu Shantaram Parab.
Dagdu is all set to prepare for Class 10 exams however, not much has changed in his life and he strives to prove himself worthy time and again. This time around, he clears the exams with 36 percent, with the help of his friends and now wishes to take admission in Science stream. Though difficult, he manages to do so and resumes working as a paper boy again which leads to crossroads with his biggest enemy Madhav Lele.
His friends guide him to lead a new life and win Prajakta again, which impresses Palvi, the daughter of Don Dinkar Patil. Impressed by his change, she decided to transform herself to win him. They become friends and eventually turn into love. Their parents decide their marriage however, her father is unaware of his past image.

Kerosene: A Burnt Truth | Aha Telugu | September 16
Stars newcomers Dhruva in the lead roles, Kerosene: A Burnt Truth is a Telugu film revolving around rape and murder victims who were burnt alive with Kerosene. During the investigation, the lead character Vaibhav also comes across other matters with the same Modus Operandi and this leads to a chain of mysteries to solve.
The investigative thriller garnered a lot of buzz for the plot, however, the makers have not revealed much about Kerosene. The film also stars Brahmaji, Preetei Sundar, Madhusudhan Rao, Laxman Meesala and Sammeta Gandhi in pivotal roles. Dhruva has also written the story, screenplay, and dialogues of Kerosene: A Burnt Truth.
Reports state that the makers were lauded for the unique thriller which is touted to be highly engaging.

Goodnight Mommy | Amazon Prime Video | September 16
The remake of the 2014 Austrian film with the same name, Amazon Prime Video’s upcoming film, Goodnight Mommy, stars starring Naomi Watts. It is about the changed demeanour of a lady who is believed to be the mother of twin boys. As the twin brothers arrive home, they find her face covered in surgical bandages and hence born suspicions about the real woman beneath the gauze.
The psychological horror film, in 2014, was written and directed by Veronika Franz and Severin Fiala. The film gained popularity and was sent as the Austrian entry for the Best Foreign Language Film at the 88th Academy Awards.
The film also garnered positive reviews from critics and was named one among the Top 5 Foreign Language Films of that year by the National Board of Review.
The 2022 film is directed by Matt Sobel and also stars Cameron Crovetti and Nicholas Crovetti
