The first month of 2023 has come to an end (quickly), and with several releases, fans were in for a treat this month. As we enter February, the month of love, content buffs can rejoice, as the OTT platforms have several releases planned for the week, and there’s something for everyone!
Sports enthusiasts can watch India vs New Zealand T20I this week on Disney+ Hotstar. Once that is over, the schedule can be filled with DFB Pokal and/or Bundesliga on SonyLIV. Last week, the popular South Korean show, Physical 100, was released on Netflix, and the makers released two new episodes this week, which can be binged. The popular Korean show Goblin (also known as Guardian) will also be streaming on Playflix.
Meanwhile, lovers of Indian regional content can enjoy Veekam on Zee5, Sembi on SimplySouth, PSPK special of Unstoppable 2 with NBK on Aha Video, Raangi on SunNxt, and Roktokorobi on Zee5. Besides this, two new, much-awaited original shows will also make way on the binge-watch list this week. SonyLIV will release its highly anticipated Jehanabad, and Netflix will release Class, the Indian adaptation of Elite.

Starring the popular actress Trisha, the storyline of Raangi received a mediocre response from the audience globally. After a very normal theatrical run, the film premiered on Netflix for fans in India. Those who do not have a subscription to Netflix can watch it on Simply South. Presented as an action drama, Raangi is about “An online channel reporter who finds a fake Facebook account of her niece. She encounters a boy named Aalim from Libya. The trailer of the show was released recently, and the official synopsis, as shared by the team, reads, “A small town in Bihar, where innocent love and anarchy of the land are brewing parallelly and bound to collide.” Ace filmmaker Sudhir Mishra has contributed as the showrunner of Jehanabad, which is produced by Studio Next and co-written by Satyanshu Singh and Rajeev Barnwal, with the latter also being the director.

Roktokorobi | Zee5
Zee5 has become one of the popular platforms for Bengali language content. The team recently announced the line-up of Bengali shows for 2023, and one of the shows is Roktokorobi, which revolves around Satyaki, a psychologist. The official premise of the show, as shared on IMDb, read, “One of Satyaki’s patients commits suicide while under treatment. It leaves him broken. He quits practising as a psychologist as locals ransack his chamber. Satyaki goes to his aunt’s house at Jonai where uncanny events start taking place.” Directed by Sayantan Ghoshal, the show is produced jointly by Rohit Samanta and Sahana Dutta.

One of the highly anticipated Hindi shows on Netflix is Class. Produced by Bodhi Tree, Class is the official remake of the renowned series, Elite. The trailer of the Indian adaptation was released by Netflix India, with a message that read, “Paisa bolta hai… but will the money be able to hide the web of lies, crime and pretence? The promo of the first part of the episode was shared on social media accounts, stating #PowerStormonAHA, and a message that read, “Athani navvu, athani kopam, athani siggu, athani matalu. Critically acclaimed Tamil language drama, Sembi, will be released on two platforms as a part of the digital premiere.
