In week 2 of November, i.e., from November 7 to 13, 2022, fans can enjoy an array of releases. This week has something for everyone.

Viewers who enjoy football can rejoice this month as several sports documentaries will be released on OTT platforms before the world cup action kicks in. FIFA uncovered, on Netflix, will take one through the journey of how a World Cup is planned along with showcasing the corruption allegations dealt with by the organization. Meanwhile, Save Our Squad will showcase a group of 14+ years old who seek help with the game.

Fans of drama shows can enjoy the new season of the popular show, The Crown, which, in this season, will showcase the struggles faced by the Queen and other members of the royal family. On the Hindi show front, the new season of Amazon Prime Video Original Breathe: Into the Shadows will also resume from where it ended in the first season, on a journey where the protagonist has to save his daughter.

Two new Hindi shows will make their way to the OTT platforms. High hopes have been set for SonyLIV’s Tanaav, the Hindi remake of the popular Israeli show, Fauda; and Zee5 release Mukhir: The story of a spy.

Monster Hunter | SonyLIV

Based on the video game series of the same name by Capcom, Monster Hunter revolves around a hunter trainer to kill the powerful creatures which co-exist with humans. The target is a wide variety of savage monsters, however, the hunter, who is separated from the team, has to now survive. In order to do so, she must engage in a battle against the monsters with incredible powers. The team, which includes loyal soldiers, are transported to a new world against deadly ferocity, incredible powers, terrifying attacks, mysteries and more.

The Claus Family 2 follows this concept where Grandpa Noel delivers presents every year; however, this year, Jules Claus takes the responsibility and, together with grandpa Noël, plans to deliver gifts. Everything goes smoothly, but he comes across one letter written by a girl who has a special request, a holiday wish.

FIFA Uncovered | Netflix

This documentary presentation is a treat for football lovers as the team plans to take one on a journey of how politics, power, struggles and more become a part of the World Cup planning. The organisation, many years back, was accused of systemic corruption amidst the governing body. This, however, came to light in 2015, and through FIFA Uncovered, as the name suggests, the team makes a way to reveal the FIFA organization’s checkered history and the challenges the authorities faced while hosting the coveted World Cup.

The show’s official plot, as mentioned on the OTT platform, says, “From power struggles to global politics, an exploration of FIFA reveals the organization’s checkered history — and what it takes to host a World Cup.”

After four successful seasons, Netflix has finally released the much-anticipated fifth season of The Crown. The show will continue to take the viewers through the life and reign of Queen Elizabeth II and the other members of the British Royal Family. This is the show’s first season, which will release post the demise of both Prince Philip and Queen Elizabeth II. In The Crown: Season 5, makers will take us through the 1990s, believed to be a troublesome period for the Queen and the Royal Family where the marriage of her three children is in trouble, Windsor Castle sets on fire, political crisis continues and more.

Breathe: Into the Shadows S2 | Amazon Prime Video

Six-year-old Siya, Dr. Avinash Sabharwal’s daughter, is kidnapped by a masked man who demands he kills another man to save his daughter and get her back. This puts him in a dilemma; however, he has to do anything and go to any lengths for his daughter. After a successful season 1 spanning 12 episodes, the second season of Breathe: Into the Shadows will continue with Dr. Avinash’s challenges and struggles. While the show was announced in 2018, Season 1 premiered in July 2020, and makers decided to release the second season two years later.

Sinam | Netflix

Tamil-language crime thriller, Sinam, directed by G. N. R. Kumaravelan, is the story of an inspector, Paari Venkat, who is happy with his simple life he spends with his Madhangi and his daughter. However, some unforeseen events bring troubles when his wife goes missing. He, along with the constable Kadal investigates the matter, which only reveals harsh truths. She was raped and killed, and his motive now is to find the culprits and seek justice.

Guillermo del Toro’s Pinocchio | Netflix

The story of the popular wooden puppet is told once again in this Netflix release. The character, created by the famous Carlo Collodi, dreams of becoming a real boy. Set in the 1930s, Pinocchio comes to life, however, he is the opposite of a nice boy who causes mischief and troubles everyone by playing tricks. The makers dive deep and portray his other side as well, where he has to live up to his father’s expectations and learn the true meaning of life.

The official announcement regarding the film says, “Oscar-winning filmmaker in Guillermo del Toro’s Pinocchio reinvents the classic story of a wooden puppet brought to life in this stunning stop-motion musical tale.”

Warrior Nun S2 | Netflix

Warrior Nun was reimagined as a series for Netflix after being planned as a feature film adaptation. Post the approval, the first season of the show released in 2020, with the story revolving around a young woman who discovers a new side of her life. She wakes up in a morgue and now has a divine artefact on her back. She has been ordered to fight the demons on earth using the powers she has received as a part of the ancient Order of the Cruciform, representing both heaven and hell.

Falling for Christmas | Netflix

The upcoming Netflix release, Falling for Christmas, presented as a rom-com, marks the directorial debut of Janeen Damian. The screenplay is written by Jeff Bonnett and Ron Oliver, and revolves around a young, spoiled, and newly engaged hotel heiress who suffers a skiing accident ahead of Christmas. She suffers from a total amnesia. She is now under the care of a dashing blue-collar lodge owner and his daughter, who she has to spend time with during Christmas.

His wife and unborn child were killed by Dileep. While the latter is dead, Luke stills feel his presence and wish to extinguish it. With a mission to accomplish this, he takes several steps with his deranged family, near and dear ones.

Sharing the trailer, the team from Amazon took to social media with a message that said, “Niku, Aussie, Alok Bhaiyya aur puri cricket team ho gayi hai fully charged! Will they overcome the challenges and take the trophy home this time?” The teaser of Sixer was released by ace cricketer Yuvraj Singh. Directed by Chaitanya Kumbhakonum, Sixer revolves around Nikunj Shukla aka Nikku, from Indore, who is crazy about cricket. An enthusiast by nature, Nikku only focuses on representing cricket in the right manner.

Tanaav | Sony LIV

Tanaav is the Indian remake of the popular Israeli show, Fauda. The story here is set in 2017 and will focus on the complicated relationship between India and Pakistan, where special covert operations units will be highlighted, and their bravery and courage will be showcased. Emphasis has been given to flawed characters who go through complex emotions of love, betrayal, and revenge. Makers of the show, Applause Entertainment, revealed that Tanaav would be ‘socio-political’ in nature, packed with action and drama.

Peter Rabbit 2 | SonyLIV

After multiple delays due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, Sony Pictures’ Peter Rabbit 2 was released in the theatres and had a decent run. The story of this part revolves around Peter, who abandons his human family and runs away after finding out that he would be put in a bad light in their book. As he escapes, his roads cross with another older rabbit who makes Peter a part of his heist. The film’s official synopsis read, “Thomas and Bea are now married and living with Peter and his rabbit family. Bored of life in the garden, Peter goes to the big city, where he meets shady characters and ends up creating chaos for the whole family.”

Mukhbir – The Story of A Spy | Zee5

Set against the background of the 1965 India-Pakistan war, The story of Mukhbir – The Story of a Spy revolves around a secret agent from India who lands in Pakistan to gather information from the enemy nation and alert the motherland by providing intelligence and by helping the country win the war. Zee5, in a tweet shared regarding the show, said, “After the Sino-India war, a highly trained Indian spy enters Pakistan on a mission to gather crucial intelligence and stop Pakistan from launching an attack against India. Will he succeed?”

Makers have planned to release the thriller in an eight-episode series format and in four languages – Hindi, Punjabi, Tamil and Telugu

Hot Seat | Lionsgate Play

American horror thriller, Hot Seat, showcases the story of a former hacker and IT expert, Friar, who is framed in a mission. An unknown hacker straps the chair with a hair-trigger bomb only to seek the code needed to rob the digital funds online. Failing to do the same, he will blow up lives and will also have the daughter abducted. This mounts tension for Friar, who has to clear his name from the planned allegations and so embarks on the journey to expose the real hacker.

Malayalam-language satire comedy, Mei Hoom Moosa, directed by Jibu Jacob and written by Rubesh Rain received positive response from its theatrical release. The story of the film revolves around an Indian army soldier, Lance naik Muhammad Moosa, who after spending several years in a jail in Pakistan, returns to Kerala, his hometown only to know that the town has assumed him to be dead in the Kargil war. What follows are sequences where he must now prove his identity with the people in the town and also live in a life past the horrible time spent behind the bars.

Guru Shishyaru | Zee5

The story of Guru Shishyaru is set in 1995 and revolves around a former national champion of the popular kho-kho game. Manohar is a lethargic man today and lives with his teacher Guru who persuades him to do something productive in his life, and after persuasion, Manohar takes up the post of a PT teacher at a school in the village. Initially, he does not enjoy the job and considers it only for money, but after spending some time, he develops a bond with the students. They train well under him and prepare strongly for the games. On the other hand, another local, Rudrappa, bothers villagers to handover their land by threatening them of the government policy. This case lands in court, however, they are challenged that the land will not be taken if the students win a kho-kho match and defeat the champions from the previous years. This becomes the crux of the film and the rest of the movie revolves around if they win or not.
