New OTT Releases This Week (December 5 to December 11, 2022): Where to watch Kantara (Hindi), Yashoda, Fall, Roy, CAT, Witness, DoctorG, and more

The year 2022 is drawing to a close, and Christmas festivities have begun. The first week of December 2022, i.e., from December 5 to 11, 2022, has several Christmas releases like Dear Santa, Santa Who, Christmas is Cancelled, Christmas Wonderland, Sister Swap: Christmas series, etc., on Netflix, Lionsgate play, Disney+ Hotstar and other OTT platforms. While the audience, who love international content, can mark their calendars, this week will also be packed for fans of Indian OTT content.

Hindi version of the much-awaited film, Kantara, will also stream on Netflix this week. Besides this, films and shows like Faadu (SonyLIV), CAT (Netflix), Blurr (Zee5) Doctor G (Netflix) will also stream digitally.

The Elephant Whisperers | Netflix

Directed by filmmaker Kartiki Gonsalves, The Elephant Whisperer is a nature documentary revolving around how an orphan elephant is taken care by a couple. Terming the show as ‘heartfelt,’ the official synopsis on Netflix reads, “Bomman and Bellie, a couple in south India, devote their lives to caring for an orphaned baby elephant named Raghu, forging a family like no other.”

The Hindi version of the much-awaited Kannada blockbuster film, Kantara, is finally set for an OTT release. Fans have been requesting the makers to release it online. However, other versions of the film were released before the Hindi version. Netflix took to YouTube to share the date with a video featuring Rishab Shetty. The message said, “Rishab Shetty has finally answered the question “When is Kantara coming in Hindi?” and we couldn’t be more excited. Kantara is coming to Netflix in Hindi on December 9th.”

Directed by Siddharth Ramaswamy, Fall is an official adaptation of a Canadian series titled Vertige. Produced by Banijay Asia, Fall is presented as a Disney+ Hotstar special, which boasts an eminent cast. The show’s premise follows a young woman who attempts suicide but has no memory of what happened in her life 24 hours before. However, she tries to connect the dots and put the pieces together to understand what led to her not trusting anyone in her life, be it friends or family. What follows is a series of events through which she discovers truth, lies and other secrets that reveal a lot that is locked in her memory.

After several deliberations on the OTT release, the makers have finally announced the digital release of the film. The story focuses on Siddhartha Reddy, posted at Andhra Pradesh’s Guntur, as district collector. During the first few days of the tenure, he learns about a local rowdy politician, Rajappa, who has taken the control over the locality. What follows is a series of events where Reddy goes against Rajappa, following the legal and lawful routes to keep his territory safe from atrocities and crimes.

The trailer of Ashwini Iyer Tiwary’s next release, Faadu, has been lauded by the fans and critics alike. Presented as an intense love story, the official premise of Faadu highlights Pavail Gulati’s character falling into life-threatening trouble, but he has the love of his life, Saiyami Kher, beside him as his strength. There are references of love and relationship connected to that wet sand this has left the audience intrigued.
