HMD Global has expanded its presence in the feature phone market with the launch of the Nokia 106 (2018), which is the successor to the original 2013 model.
As for the technical specifications, the Nokia 106 features a 1.8-inch QQVGA TFT display with a resolution of 160 x 120 pixels. The device is powered by a MediaTek MT6261D processor coupled with 4MB RAM. It offers 4MB internal memory without support for expandability. The Nokia 106 ships with the classic Snake game as well as other pre-loaded try and buy games such as Nitro racing, Danger dash, and Tetris. Reportedly, the feature phone is capable of storing up to 2,000 contacts and 500 text messages.
The Nokia 106 runs on a 800mAh battery unit. Connectivity-wise, the device functions as a dual-SIM smartphone. It has FM Radio, a Micro-USB port and a 3.5mm headphone jack
Coming to the pricing & availability, the Nokia 106 will cost 1,590 Russian rubles (~Rs 1,700). It is available in a Dark Grey color and will go on sale from this month. Nokia is yet to reveal the price and availability of the feature phone in India. The original Nokia 106 (2013) was launched in India at Rs 1,399.
