Apart from the Nokia 6.2 and Nokia 7.2 Android smartphones, HMD Global has also introduced a few feature phones at its pre-IFA 2019 event in Berlin. The brand’s new offerings in this segment include the Nokia 110, Nokia 2720 Flip, and Nokia 800 Tough. The Nokia 110 is a basic feature handset, but the other two are quite interesting. The Nokia 2720 Flip is the 2019 version of the clamshell device from 2009 with the same name, while the Nokia 800 Tough is the first-ever rugged phone from the brand to date.

Talking about the Nokia 2720 Flip first, the nostalgia-inducing feature phone sports two separate displays – a small 1.7-inch on the outside and a larger 2.8-inch on the inside. The external display of the handset allows you to see notifications before opening the phone. The handset sports large buttons on its T9 keyboard, and has a dedicated emergency button, which can be configured to trigger Google Assistant as well.
As for the Nokia 800 Tough, the phone is IP68 certified and carries the MIL-STD-810 rating to survive in extreme conditions. The phone can survive drops, high temperatures, and under 1.5m depth of water. The handset also gets an anti-slip rubberised grip, large keys, a large flashlight, and a loop to attach it to a lanyard. There’s a flap on top to cover the charging port and the 3.5mm headphone socket to provide additional water resistance.
Talking about the features, the Nokia 2720 Flip and Nokia 800 Tough share a lot of specifications. They are based on KaiOS and utilise the Qualcomm 205 Mobile platform. There are a lot of apps onboard including WhatsApp, Facebook, YouTube, Google Maps, Snake, and Google Assistant. The handsets come with LTE Cat 4, VoLTE, VoWi-Fi, dual-SIM slots, Bluetooth, and Wi-Fi Hotspot functionality. As for the batteries, the Nokia 2720 Flip has a 2,100mAh battery, while the 800 Tough is loaded with a 1,500mAh power cell.
Nokia 110 specifications
As for the Nokia 110, the budget feature phone comes in attractive looking colourful variants including Ocean Blue, Pink, and Black. The handset sports a 1.77-inch QVGA display, 4MB of RAM, and 4MB of ROM, and supports microSD cards up to 32GB in size. The device is based on the Nokia Series 30+ software platform. There’s the Snake game onboard the phone, apart from some trial games. A 800mAh battery keeps the whole show running, which is claimed to provide up to 18.5 days of standby time.
Nokia 2720 Flip, 800 Tough, and 110 prices and availability
The Nokia 2720 Flip has been priced at €89 (~Rs 7,000), and will go on sale in select markets in September. The Nokia 800 Tough costs €109 (~Rs 8,650), and will be released in October. Lastly, the Nokia 110 will be available in September for $20 (~Rs 1,400).
