Through a launch event in May, HMD Global had launched three new smartphones namely, Nokia 5.1, Nokia 3.1 and Nokia 2.1. These phones were unveiled as successor versions of Nokia 5, Nokia 3 and Nokia 2 smartphones from last year. HMD Global has now introduced the Nokia 3.1 smartphone in the Indian market with an affordable price tag of Rs. 10,499. Like Nokia 5.1 and 2.1 that are yet to arrive in India, the Nokia 3.1 is Android One phone which means it delivers pure Android experience as there is no custom UI from the company. The other highlight of the smartphone is that it features an 18:9 aspect ratio supporting display.
Nokia 3.1 Specifications and Features
The sides of the Nokia 3.1 are made out of aluminum and its rear features a polycarbonate panel. The handset can be availed in colors like Blue/Copper, Black/Chrome and White/Iron. The smartphone measures 146.25 x 68.85 x 8.7mm and it weighs 138 grams. The Nokia 3.1 houses a 5.2-inch IPS LCD display that produces HD+ resolution of 1440 x 720 pixels. The screen is protected by a layer of Corning Gorilla Glass.
The modest MediaTek MT6750N SoC that includes 1.5 GHz octa-core processor powers the smartphone. The 16 GB model of the phone has 2 GB of RAM whereas the 32 GB variant has 3 GB of RAM. The handset also features a microSD card slot. It is fueled by a 2,990mAh battery that lacks support for fast charging.
There is a 13-megapixel camera with features like autofocus, f/2.0 aperture and LED flash on the backside of the Nokia 3.1. The frontside of the smartphone features a fixed focus selfie camera of 8-megapixel with f/2.0 aperture. The front camera offers a field-of-view of 84.6 degrees. It is preinstalled with the latest Android 8.1 Oreo. The handset is packed with usual connectivity features like 4G VoLTE, dual-SIM support, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 5, microUSB and 3.5mm audio jack.
Nokia 3.1 Pricing and Availability
The Nokia 3.1 that is priced at Rs. 10,499 will be available through offline retailers, online stores, Paytm Mall and Nokia’s online shop from July 21.
Customers who purchases the Nokia 3.1 by scanning the Paytm Mall QR code at an offline store will be entitled to receive 10 percent cashback on future recharges and bill payments. Buyers of Nokia 3.1 will also receive two Rs. 250 movie vouchers which can be redeemed by purchasing minimum two movie tickets through Paytm. Owners of ICICI credit and debit cards can take advantage of 5 percent cashback. Even mobile operator like Idea and Vodafone are providing attractive offers to the customers of Nokia 3.1
