Nokia has made a comeback in India by launching three new smartphones, Nokia 3, 5 and 6. Some rumours also claim that three new phones are in the pipeline before the year ends. For those who have already purchased the Nokia 3, there’s a pleasant surprise waiting for them. The phone is all set to get an Android 7.1.1 Nougat update by the end of August.
This was announced via a tweet by Juho Sarvikas, the Chief Product Officer of HMD Global, the brand that owns Nokia.

Nokia 3 is the cheapest smartphone in the lineup of Android devices launched by the brand this year. This is a budget offering and is aimed to compete with phones in the sub Rs. 10,000 market.
Nokia 3 is powered by MediaTek MTK 6737 SoC which will ensure a decent performance. The phone packs in 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage. However, the storage can be conveniently expanded via a microSD card till up to 128GB. Coming to the cameras, Nokia 3 has an 8-megapixel sensor, both on the rear as well as on the front. The phone follows Nokia’s own design philosophy and looks pretty decent. It has a 5-inch IPS LCD display with an HD resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels.
More than being just an update, this gives us an indication that Nokia is committed to providing quick Android updates. Since Nokia smartphones running on Android offer a near stock OS experience, future updates shall be quick to arrive as well.
