Nokia 5.3 with Snapdragon 665 and 13MP quad cameras launched in India: price, specifications

In March, HMD Global held a global event to unveil a couple of new phones in European markets. The Nokia 5.3 and Nokia 5310 (2020) were made official alongside the Nokia 8.3 5G and Nokia 1.3. Today, the Finnish firm has announced four new phones in India namely, the Nokia 5.3 and Nokia C3 smartphones, and Nokia 125 and Nokia 150 feature phones.

Coming to the Nokia 5.3, the mid-range handset that features a large display. It features a circular camera module on its rear panel that houses 13-megapixel quad cameras. Nokia is also promising two years of Android updates on this device.

The Nokia 5.3 has a 6.55-inch HD+ resolution screen with a waterdrop notch. The display features a 20:9 aspect ratio and is shielded by Gorilla Glass 3 . The waterdrop notch on the screen is equipped with a front-facing 8-megapixel camera with f/2.0 aperture.

The rear camera setup includes a 13-megapixel main camera with f/1.8 aperture, a 5-megapixel ultra-wide shooter with a 118-degree field-of-view, a 2-megapixel macro lens, and a 2-megapixel depth sensor. The Nokia 5.3 supports photography features such as night mode, AI scene detection, and portrait mode.

The Snapdragon 665 mobile platform is the driving force of the Nokia 5.3. The phone comes in 4GB and 6GB LPDDR4x RAM. Both RAM variants come with 64GB of eMMC 5.1 storage. There is a microSD card slot on the phone expanding the storage further.

The phone runs a stock version of Android 10, and HMD Global has guaranteed Android 11 and Android 12 upgrades for the device. The smartphone features a dedicated hardware key for accessing Google Assistant. The phone is backed by a 4,000mAh battery that supports 10W charging. The company claims that the phone offers up to 22 hours of 3G talk time and nearly 19 hours of standby time

The Nokia 5.3 features a rear-mounted fingerprint reader. The other features that are available on the Nokia 5.3 include a notification LED, dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, USB Type-C, and a 3.5mm audio jack. As far as the build of the device is concerned, HMD Global claims that the Nokia 5.3 has a scratch-resistant composite back.

Nokia 5.3 price in India

The 4GB RAM + 64GB storage and 6GB RAM + 64GB storage editions of the Nokia 5.3 are priced at Rs 13,999 and Rs 15,499, respectively. Pre-bookings of the device start from August 25th, and the sales start from September 1st. The phone can be availed in three colours such as Cyan, Sand, and Charcoal, and will be available for purchase on Amazon and Nokia’s website.
