Recently, HMD Global upgraded the Nokia 6.1 Plus smartphone to Android 10 in India. Now, the company has released the same update for the Nokia 6.1 and Nokia 7 Plus in the country as well. The newest firmware update for these phones is being rolled out over the air in phases, so not all the units of the handset will be getting the new OS right away. Apart from the latest version of Android, the new software update for the smartphone also brings the Android security patch for December, Dark Mode, Smart Reply, and Gesture Navigation. Recapping the specs of the more high-end of the duo first, the Nokia 7 Plus was launched in India in April 2018. The phone had arrived as a mid-range offering with slim bezels and dual primary cameras. The handset offers a 6-inch full HD+ display, which has a layer of Corning’s Gorilla Glass 5 on top to protect the screen from scratches. Under the hood, the device has Qualcomm’s octa-core Snapdragon 660 processor, which is paired with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of expandable storage.
In the optics department, the Nokia 7 Plus offers a 12MP primary camera on the back with an aperture of f/1.8 and Dual-Pixel PDAF. For selfies and video calling purposes, the Nokia 7 Plus offers a 16MP snapper that has an aperture of f/2.0 and support for full HD video recording at 30fps.
Design-wise, the Nokia 7 Plus has a plastic back and a curved screen with tad thick bezels on top and bottom. There’s a fingerprint sensor on the back of the smartphone for security. Above the fingerprint scanner, the dual primary camera setup is placed. As for the connectivity, the handset has 4G LTE, dual-SIM slots, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, and A-GPS with GLONASS. Lastly, a 3,800mAh battery keeps the whole package running.
