Nokia 6.1 Plus starts receiving Android 10 update in India

HMD Global launched Nokia 6.1 Plus back in 2018. As an Android One offering, users were guaranteed timely updates for the following two years. The company has done right by its users, as the device has now started receiving the official Android 10 update. Nokia has also pushed the Google Security Patch along with the software update. It weighs 1302.7MB in size and brings features like Dark Mode, Smart Reply, Gesture Navigation and additional controls for privacy. Consumers can download the update by clicking on Settings -> About Phone -> System Update. Nokia took to Twitter to announce the rollout and posted a video for the same.

Nokia 6.1 Plus specifications and features

The Nokia 6.1 Plus features a 5.8-inch LCD display with a resolution of 1.080 x 2,280 pixels and a 19:9 aspect ratio. The phone has a rectangular notch on top which houses an earpiece and selfie snapper. Performance-wise, the handset relies on Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 octa-core processor with 4GB/6GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. The latter can be expanded by up to 400GB via a microSD card. In the optics department, Nokia 6.1 Plus features a dual-camera setup with 16MP + 5MP and dual LED flash. For selfies and video calling, the device plays host to a 16MP snapper and an LED Flash. The front camera is also equipped with a bokeh mode.

For security, consumers get a fingerprint sensor on the back beneath the vertical camera setup. The device sports two SIM card slots, a hybrid port, a 3.5mm headphone jack and a USB Type-C port. Nokia 6.1 Plus sports a 3,060mAh battery unit with support for fast charging. The device is available in three colours – Gloss Midnight Blue, Gloss White and Gloss Black.

Nokia 6.1 Plus is priced at Rs 8,999 for the 4GB + 64GB variant, while the 6GB variant costs Rs 17,000.
