The long awaited Nokia phones have finally made their presence in India. HMD Global, the company responsible for manufacturing and selling Nokia branded phones has finally launched the Nokia smartphones in India. First unveiled at MWC earlier this year, Nokia 3, Nokia 5, and Nokia 6 has been launched in India with a price tag of Rs 9,499, 12,899, and 14,999 respectively. The Nokia 6 will be up for grab exclusively on Amazon, whereas the other two devices will be available via offline channels only for a while.
To recall, Nokia made a much-awaited comeback with these Android-powered smartphones at MWC 2017. Talking about Nokia 6, it was first unveiled in China a month before the global version made an appearance. It sports a metal unibody design in matte black and houses a 5.5-inch Full HD display. The smartphone is powered by a Snapdragon 430 processor with 3GB of RAM and has 32GB of storage onboard (expandable up to 128GB). It has a 16-megapixel primary camera with dual tone LED flash and a wide-angle 8-megapixel selfie camera with autofocus. Regarding software, it gets the latest Android 7.1.1 Nougat in its stock form along with Google Assistant on board. The company also launched a special version called the Arte Black featuring 4GB of RAM, 64GB of storage and a glossy black metal body. The Arte Black version is, however, not launched in India.
Nokia 5, on the other hand, comes with a smaller 5.2-inch HD display with Corning Gorilla Glass protection. The Nokia 5 is powered by the Snapdragon 430 octa-core processor. It has 2GB of RAM and 16GB of storage (expandable to 128GB). There’s a 13-megapixel camera with phase detection autofocus and dual tone LED flash at the back and a wide angle 8-megapixel snapper up front. Despite the smaller size, the Nokia 5 manages to pack in a 3000mAh battery. And just like the Nokia 6, it gets Android 7.1.1 Nougat (Stock with timely security updates) and a fingerprint scanner on the front.
Nokia 3 is the entry-level smartphone from the manufacturer at the moment. It rocks a 5-inch HD display with Corning Gorilla Glass protection. The MediaTek 6737 is an octa-core processor that powers this smartphone. It has 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage (expandable up to 128GB). The smartphone sports 8-megapixel cameras at the front and back. Regarding design, the phone sports an aluminium frame with a polycarbonate back.
The Nokia 3 gets Android 7.0 Nougat and will be available in single SIM and dual SIM models. The small body of the phone translates to a 2650mAh battery. The colour options on the Nokia 3 include silver white, matte black, tempered blue, and copper white.
