Nokia 6300 4G and Nokia 8000 4G feature phones with WhatsApp and Facebook support launched: price, specifications

Apart from launching smartphones along with different price points, HMD Global is known for selling feature phones. Earlier this year, the Finnish firm announced the Nokia 215 and Nokia 225 4G phones in global markets, and later released them in India. Today, the company has unveiled the Nokia 6300 4G and Nokia 8000 4G feature phones in Europe.

Unlike previously feature phones from the brand, the Nokia 6300 4G and Nokia 8000 4G candybar handsets offer a premium design and access to social media apps like WhatsApp and Facebook. Other key features include 4G, Wi-Fi hotspot, and access to Google Assistant.

The Nokia 6300 4G is the renewed version of the Nokia 6300 that debuted back in 2006. On the other hand, the Nokia 8000 4G features a glass-like shell and a 3D curved keyboard.

The Nokia 6300 4G and Nokia 8000 4G are both fitted with 2.4-inch QVGA displays. Both handsets are powered by the Snapdragon 210 chipset and 512MB of RAM. These devices are equipped with 4GB of internal storage and they support up to 32GB expansion via microSD.

The Nokia 6300 4G and Nokia 8000 4G boot Kai OS. These handsets give access to numerous apps including WhatsApp, Facebook, YouTube, and Google Maps that are generally available on smartphones. With Google Assistant onboard, these phones can be used to ask questions, get directions, and make phone calls using voice commands.

Both phones are fuelled by 1,5000mAh batteries that can be charged through micro-USB. On the connectivity front, both handsets support FM radio, single / dual SIM, 4G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. The Nokia 6300 4G has a VGA camera on the rear, whereas the Nokia 8000 4G has a 2-megapixel camera. The LED flash on both phones can be used as a torch.

The Nokia 6300 4G is priced at €49 (~Rs 4,300) in Europe and it comes in colours such as Cyan Green, Light Charcoal, Powder White. On the other hand, the Nokia 8000 4G has a price tag of €79 (~Rs 7,000) and it comes in hues like Onyx Black, Opal White, Citrine Gold, and Topaz Blue. Both handsets will be available in select markets soon. The company is yet to specifically confirm the arrival of these phones in the Indian market.
