Nokia held a global event in Barcelona ahead of the MWC 2018 event that will span over the next week. The Finnish brand launched the new Nokia 7 Plus, an Android One smartphone with dual-rear cameras. Google had earlier announced that there will be new Android One smartphones scheduled to launch at MWC and this is one of them. The phone is priced at EUR 399 which is approximately around Rs. 31,000 in India. It will be available globally starting this April. Let’s see what the new Nokia 7 Plus has to offer.
Picking up on the bezel-less trend, the Nokia 7 Plus comes with an 18:9 Full HD+ bezel-less display. It’s a large 6-inch screen, justifying the ‘Plus’ tag in its title. The display is also layered with a Corning Gorilla Glass sheet for additional protection.
In terms of performance, the Android One phone rocks a Snapdragon 660 chipset. It is coupled with 4GB of DDLR4 RAM. With this combination, we can expect a seamless multi-tasking experience on this phone. The device gets 64GB of internal storage which is expandable via a microSD card up to 256GB of RAM. At present, Nokia has announced just one variant of this phone with regards to RAM and storage. We might get to see newer variants of this phone in the near future.
One of the major highlights of this smartphone is its dual-rear cameras. There’s a 12-megapixel primary sensor which is a wide angle lens and bears an aperture of f/1.75. This will prove amazing for low-light photography. It is also coupled with another 13-megapixel sensor on the back which comes with an aperture of f/2.6. This lens allows you to do 2x optical zoom. On the front, you get a 16-megapixel camera to help you with selfies and video-calling.
