Nokia 8.1 starts receiving Android 10 update

HMD Global, the parent company of Nokia, had launched the Nokia 8.1 in December last year. The smartphone is a part of the Android One family that ensures guaranteed OS and security upgrades for at least two years.

Now HMD Global has announced the rollout of Android 10 for the Nokia 8.1 starting today. This makes it the first smartphone from the company to receive the latest OS update. The Nokia 8.1 also becomes the first Snapdragon 710 powered smartphone to get updated to Android 10. Android 10 offers a host of new features like gesture navigation for faster and more intuitive controls. The smart reply feature offers smart responses in messages, while privacy controls offer more control over the user’s personal data. Focus mode and Family link block distracting apps and help parents set digital ground rules for the whole family. 

Nokia 8.1 specifications and features

As for the technical specifications, the Nokia 8.1 sports a 6.18-inch FHD+ PureDisplay with HDR support. The smartphone sports Zeiss-powered dual rear cameras comprising of 12MP and 13MP sensors, while there is a 20MP snapper on the front. On the hardware front, the Nokia 8.1 is equipped with Snapdragon 710 chipset coupled with 4GB RAM and 64GB internal storage. Nokia 8.1 price in India

The Nokia 8.1 is currently available at a price tag of Rs 15,999 for the base variant while the 6GB RAM variant is retailing at Rs 22,999. HMD Global has been delivering timely software updates across its smartphone portfolio. The Finnish company is expected to roll out Android 10 to other devices later this year.
