The Nokia 8.1 was launched for European markets last week. HMD Global, the parent company of Nokia, has now unveiled the device in India. Read on to know the technical specifications, pricing and availability:
Display & Design:
The Nokia 8.1 boasts of a 6.18-inch FHD+ PureDisplay. It features HDR10 support which produces crisp output and more contrasts. There is a notch on the top that houses the front camera and ambient light/proximity sensors. Design-wise, 2.5D curved glass is fitted on the front and the back. The frame is crafted out of 6000 series aluminum. The back of the phone houses a vertical camera setup located in the centre with a fingerprint scanner beneath it. There is a 3.5mm headphone jack and a USB Type-C port for connectivity. The Nokia 8.1 ships in three color options i.e. Blue/Silver, Steel/Copper, Iron/Steel.
In the photography department, the Nokia 8.1 is equipped with Zeiss-powered dual rear cameras. It comprises of a 12MP primary sensor and 13MP depth sensor. In the front, there is a 20MP selfie camera. Like other Nokia phones, this one too comes with the Bothie feature which can be used to capture images and stream YouTube video through the front and rear camera simultaneously. The Nokia 8.1 also features OIS and 4K video recording.
Hardware, OS, & Battery:
The Nokia 8.1 is powered by a Snapdragon 710 processor. It is paired with 4GB RAM and offers 64GB inbuilt memory. The internal storage is expandable up to 400GB via microSD card slot. On the software front, the Nokia 8.1 is a part of the Android One program, and runs the latest Android 9 Pie out of the box. Users can expect guaranteed and timely OS updates over the next two years.
The Nokia 8.1 is fitted with a 3,500mAh battery unit and supports 18W fast charging.

Nokia has priced its latest device for Rs 26,999. It will be available for purchase from December 21st through Amazon India and offline retailers.
