Since Nokia offers a stock Android experience in its smartphones, it becomes easier to ship new Android updates in close succession to when Google pushes it out. The new Nokia 8 Android update weighs 1518 MB which also includes the November security update. The new update brings all the features of Oreo as is to Nokia’s flagship smartphone. Another phone that received this month’s Android security update is Xiaomi’s Android One phone Mi A1. However, it is yet to get the Android Oreo update, which might be scheduled for sometime before the year ends.
Apart from Google Pixel, the Nokia 8 is probably the first flagship smartphone to receive the much coveted update. Although many manufacturers had spoken about enabling their smartphones to receive Oreo, Nokia is the first to fulfill this promise. Since the flagship device has now received the update, we can expect its other Android phones – Nokia 2, Nokia 3, Nokia 5 and Nokia 6 – to get a taste of Oreo soon.
Apparently, a recent twitter poll showed that close to 70% people want fast OS updates for their smartphone.
How much do you care about getting latest OS update for your phone?

Nokia’s move of providing the latest Android update to its flagship device is sure to motivate a lot of people in choosing the brand over others. And if the above poll is to be considered, such people make a clear majority. Will you prefer Nokia over other brands now that it provides the fastest Android updates?
