Nokia 800 Tough listed as ‘coming soon’ by Indian retailer, launch imminent

HMD Global announced five new phones at the IFA 2019 trade show in September this year. The list includes the Nokia 110, 2720 Flip, Nokia 6.2, 7.2 and the Nokia 800 Tough. The Nokia 110 was the first to be unveiled in India. While the Nokia 6.2 and Nokia 7.2 are also on sale in the subcontinent, the Nokia  800 Tough and Nokia 2720 Flip are yet to arrive in the country. Now, retailer Sangeetha Mobiles has listed the 800 Tough with the tagline “Coming Soon”. HMD is yet to make a formal announcement regarding a tentative launch date.

The poster of the Nokia 800 Tough on the retailer site’s highlights its key specifications. The feature phone has been designed with adventurers and enterprise users in mind, and features an IP68 certified dust-proof and water-resistant body built to withstand rough usage.

The Nokia 800 Tough features a 2.4-inch QVGA display and is powered by the Qualcomm 205 chipset with 512MB of RAM and 4GB of native storage. The memory is expandable up to 32GB through a miicroSD card. The feature phone draws power from a 2,100mAh battery and runs on KaiOS. HMD Global claims the device offers 43 days of standby time on a full charge. . The device features built-in apps like WhatsApp and Facebook.

The device flaunts an alphanumeric keypad and supports 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth v4.1, and GPS/A-GPS. The Nokia 800 Tough flaunts a 2-megapixel primary camera with flash and has a 3.5mm headphone jack. 

The phone features an IP68 dustproof rating and is MIL-STD-810G compliant. It can withstand a drop from a height of up to 1.8 meters. It is also equipped with rubberised buttons for ease of use even when wearing gloves. The phone measures 145.4 x 62.1 x 16.11mm and will be available in Desert Sand and Black Steel colour variants. There is no word on the pricing of the Nokia 900 Tough for India yet.
