Three Nokia 9 PureView Variants Gets Bluetooth SIG Certification

While many smartphone OEMs have unveiled their triple camera handsets this year, Nokia’s own Penta-lens smartphone has been awaited eagerly for some time. That handset is believed to be the Nokia 9 PureView. And three variants of the said device have passed Bluetooth SIG certification. Those are Nokia TA-1082, TA-1087, and TA-1094. There has been no shortage of leaked images and cases belonging to the device on the Interwebs, and even other certification portals such as 3C and MIIT have also found the upcoming flagship smartphone.

Talking about the Bluetooth certification, the new models support Bluetooth 5.0 unsurprisingly. Sadly though, there won’t be much more than we can extract from this particular listing.

Based on previously leaked information, there is substantial evidence to believe that the new Nokia 9 PureView will be something of a novelty, at least in the mobile camera segment. A recent case, along with previously leaked images, reveals as many as seven cutouts placed in a circular position on the back for camera sensors. Current info suggests there will be all varieties of lenses such as RGB, depth sensor, wide-angle lens, telephoto lens, and monochrome. While we’ve seen a quad-camera handset from Samsung, Nokia’s implementation has been in the works for a long time and the company’s history says it will be promising.

Besides the camera itself, the Nokia 9 PureView is thought to also boast other high-end specs such as a 5.9-inch an OLED panel with QHD+ resolution, the former flagship Snapdragon 845 SoC from Qualcomm, and a 4150mAh battery. There are rumours that it could rock a Snapdragon 855 SoC which could also be a reason for the delayed launch of the flagship. It could also boast 8GB of RAM and Android Pie which is unsurprising, to say the least.

There’s no official hint on the launch date of the device, however, speculation indicated HMD Global could release the device at CES 2019 that is in January next month. If that doesn’t happen, the other option would be MWC the following month.
