“The Nokia 9 PureView will be a flagship offering with five rear cameras”
The Nokia 9 PureView is without a doubt among the most highly anticipated flagship smartphones of this year. While the company has remained mum about it, Nokia 9 has been the subject of a number of leaks and reports since last year. As we are nearing towards its launch, the pace of the leaks surrounding the device has increased significantly. Most recently, an alleged promotional video of the upcoming Nokia handset hit the interwebs, which revealed a few of its specs. Notably, last November, we exclusively brought you the 5K renders and a 360-degree video of the Nokia 9 PureView. Now, we have some more details regarding the flagship’s unveiling and availability in India.
From our sources in Nokia’s distribution channel, 91mobiles has exclusively learned that HMD Global is all set to globally launch the Nokia 9 PureView at an event in Dubai by the end of January. Furthermore, an industry source familiar with HMD Global’s plans has corroborated the same, along with stating that the penta-cam handset will be launched in India at some point in February. Notably, the company will also be launching a couple of other Nokia smartphones in the country in the same month, the source added further.
As far as the specs are concerned, the Nokia 9 PureView is expected to be the world’s first smartphone with five cameras at the rear. The smartphone’s ZEISS-powered penta-camera module is said to be capable of capturing five simultaneous pictures to capture 10 times more light for enhanced low light photos. Additionally, the device will allegedly allow users to adjust the focus of images after they have been captured. The imaging setup is expected to include a telephoto lens, a wide-angle lens, and a depth-sensing camera, among others.
Talking about the other rumoured features, the Nokia 9 PureView is expected to come with a glass sandwich design with a metal frame in between. The smartphone is said to flaunt an under-display fingerprint sensor. The phone will likely sport a 5.9-inch QHD+ display with PureView technology. The handset is tipped to be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor, aided by up to 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. Other rumoured specifications include Android 9 Pie, a water and dust-resistant body, and a beefy 4,150mAh battery.
If reports are to be believed, the Nokia 9 PureView could be priced at around Rs 60,000, which will make it the most expensive Nokia phone from HMD Global’s stable. We will update you more details about the flagship as soon as the company officially announces anything, so stay tuned for regular updates.
