HMD Global has announced the Nokia C1 Plus entry-level smartphone in Europe. It is an updated version of the Nokia C1 handset that went official back in December 2019. Like the predecessor model, the Nokia C1 Plus runs on Android 10 (Go Edition).
The Nokia C1 Plus has an old school 18:9 aspect ratio display. It is one of the rare smartphones that comes with a removable battery. The phone also features a front-firing flash for the selfie camera.
Nokia C1 Plus specifications and features
The Nokia C1 Plus has a 5.45-inch In-cell display that produces HD+ resolution. An unknown quad-core processor that clocked at 1.4GHz is present under the hood of the smartphone. The SoC is coupled with 1GB of LPPDR3 RAM.
The phone ships with an internal storage of 16GB and it has a dedicated microSD card slot for additional storage. It boots the Android Go version of the Android 10 OS. It draws power from a 2,500mAh battery that supports 5W charging.
The front and rear sides of the Nokia C1 Plus feature 5-megapixel cameras, both with LED flash units. Both cameras carry support for HDR. The other features that are available on the C1 Plus include dual SIM support, 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS, microUSB, and a 3.5mm audio jack.
It comes with face unlock security feature but lacks a fingerprint sensor. All the C-series phones by Nokia have a dedicated button for accessing the Google Assistant. Surprisingly, this button is absent on the C1 Plus.
Lastly, the handset comes with a solid polycarbonate build. The company claims that the device has passed over 50 durability tests. As compared to the last year’s model, the Nokia C1 Plus offers a higher screen resolution, a newer OS, a faster chipset, and 4G support.
Nokia C1 Plus pricing and availability
The Nokia C1 Plus has landed in Europe with a price tag of €69 (~Rs 6,200). The handset comes in two colours such as blue and red. The handset is expected to arrive in various markets in Latin America, Asia Pacific, and Saudi Arabia. However, there is no specific information about its arrival in India.
