In December 2019, HMD Global announced the Nokia C1 as its first C-series phone. It was followed by the launch of Nokia C2 in March this year. Recently, a Nokia phone with model number TA-1258 was spotted in China’s TENAA certification platform. The handset has debuted today as the Nokia C3 in China.
The Nokia C3 is a budget-friendly smartphone that comes with an 18:9 aspect ratio display and runs a stock version of Android 10. Most Android phones available in the market these days come with non-removable batteries. The Nokia C3 stands out in this regard with its removable battery.
Nokia C3 specifications and features
The Nokia C3 has a polycarbonate body and it houses a 5.99-inch LCD display with HD+ resolution of 720 x 1440 pixels. The modest Unisoc SC9863A octa-core processor clocked at 1.6GHz is present under the hood of the phone. The SoC is supported by 3GB of RAM and 32GB of built-in storage.
The Nokia C3 has a front-facing camera of 5-megapixels. At the rear, there’s an 8-megapixel main camera with f/2.4 aperture and LED flash. A fingerprint scanner is present on the back panel of the phone. It can also be used for authenticating payments. The Nokia C3 comes with a removable battery of 3,040mAh capacity.
The other features that are available on the Nokia C3 include face unlock, dual SIM support, microSD card slot, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS, micro-USB, FM radio, and 3.5mm headphone slot. Lastly, the handset features an Xpress button for launching the Google Assistant. The button supports double-press and long-press functions, can be reconfigured to launch any desired app.
Nokia C3 pricing and availability
The Nokia C3 will go on sale in China from August 13th with a price tag of RMB 669 (~Rs 7,200). It will be available in colours like Nordic Blue and Gold Sand. There is no word on the other markets that will be receiving the Nokia C3.
