HMD Global has sent out invites for a launch event that will be held in India on June 6th. The company is yet to confirm the devices that will be announced on the said date. However, it is being speculated that the company may launch the Nokia 1 Plus and Nokia 9 PureView in India.
HMD Global had announced the Nokia 9 Pure View, Nokia 4.2, Nokia 3.2 and Nokia 1 Plus smartphones at Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2019 in February. Among these, the Nokia 4.2 and Nokia 3.2 have been recently launched in India. Since the other devices haven’t released yet in the country, the rumour mill is speculating that they will be announced through the June 6th event. The arrival of the Nokia 9 PureView seems all the more imminent since it has recently bagged certification from Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS).
Nokia 9 PureView Specifications
The Nokia 9 PureView is powered by the Snapdragon 845 chipset that powered many of the Android flagship phones last year. It is equipped with a 5.99-inch P-OLED display that supports 18:9 aspect ratio and quad HD+ resolution of 1,440 x 2,880 pixels. It is the first Nokia phone to feature an in-display fingerprint reader.
The SD845 SoC on the device is coupled with 6GB of RAM. It has an inbuilt storage of 128GB. The Android One edition of Android 9 Pie comes preloaded on the phone. The handset lacks support for expandable storage.
The Nokia 9 PureView is the world’s first smartphone with five rear-mounted cameras. The penta-lens setup comprises of two RBG sensors and three monochrome sensors that can work simultaneously while shooting photos. For shooting selfies, it is equipped with a front-facing camera of 20-megapixel. The smartphone is packed with a 3,320mAh battery that supports 18W rapid charging through USB Type-C. It also features 10W wireless charging.
Nokia 1 Plus Specifications
The Nokia 1 Plus is an entry-level smartphone from the company. It houses a 5.45-inch IPS LCD panel with support for HD resolution. The MediaTek MT6739 chipset that works at 1.5GHz powers the smartphone, along with 1GB of RAM.
The smartphone may arrive in 8GB and 16GB storage editions in India. It may feature a microSD card slot for expanding its storage. The phone features an 8-megapixel primary camera and 5-megapixel front camera. There is a 2,500mAh battery inside the phone. It runs the Android Go edition of Android 9 Pie.
On June 6th, HMD Global will be also holding a launch event in Italy. It is speculated that the company may launch the Nokia 5.2 and Nokia 6.2 at the event. Nothing much is known about the Nokia 5.2, however the Nokia 6.2 is expected to arrive as the global edition of the Nokia X71.
