GSMA recently cancelled the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2020 tech exhibition due to the global coronavirus crisis. This caused numerous smartphone manufacturers to reschedule their launch timetables. Various companies have resorted to launching their new devices through online-only launch events. HMD Global has now confirmed an alternate release date for its lineup that was previously scheduled to be unveiled in Barcelona. According to the latest tweet from HMD Global VP Juho Sarvikas, Nokia’s latest phones will now be unveiled on March 19th in London.

The 8-second promo shared by Sarvikas suggests that the company may have planned a major James Bond collaboration. Some reports have claimed that the Finnish firm may announce “James Bond 007 edition” accessories for its smartphones.
In December, HMD Global had confirmed that it will be launching its first 5G phone powered by the Snapdragon 765 chipset at MWC 2020. The rumour mill has speculated that the Nokia 8.2 5G could be the name of the company’s first 5G smartphone. With MWC 2020 cancelled, it is likely that the Nokia 8.2 5G may break cover on March 19th along with some other phones.
The budget-friendly Nokia 5.2 and Nokia 4.3 phones are also expected to debut alongside the Nokia 8.2 5G. Some entry-level phone such as the Nokia 1.3 and Nokia 400 4G (an Android-based feature phone) may also get unveiled at the event. Some reports have also claimed that the Finnish firm may introduce its latest eSIM-enabled smartwatch at the event.
